Engine tends to jolt frequently
To get 40MPG, you have to drive like a hypermilerSummary: I am taking the time to post this on articles relating to this car because I want to help people avoid the same mistake. I was driving my new Optima Hybrid (2011, 8K miles) one day on my commute to work and the engine completely died on me. I had to cut across three lanes while cars were passing me at 70mph. My car was in the shop for 7 days and I requested they terminate my lease with no penalty. They said "no" and offered a years worth of free oil changes. Umm, THANKS!. I am going through a very expensive process of lease termination now. Do not believe that the cars are any better quality just because they look better. The engines are not safe and I would not trust my life in it ever again

Did it emit any bad smell before it shut down, ever experience bad electrical smells.
