Pros We read the reviews about the 2012 Camry Hybrid XLE and went right to Toyota. The car has been exceptional and the mileage is way above what we expected. On one trip we averaged 46.7 mpg mixed city and hwy. We love it!!! We gave up our Audi for it!
Cons Compared to the Audi, the materials used are not at all of the same caliber. The leather seats are not attractive. However, we find the car more comfortable to sit in overall. The style isn't anything special BUT THE CAR IS!!!
Summary My husband and I have wanted a hybrid for years but never loved the Prius comfortwise. We've been waiting for a great hybrid and here it is!!! We've been driving German cars for years and it was hard to give up that engineering. We have NO regrets! The mileage is much better than advertised and the comfort is wonderful. It's easy to drive, great visibility, and it feels so important to use less gas. We got the XLE so at least we could pretend we were in luxury! It's so fantastic that my husband, who doesn't care about cars the way I do, is in love with it...
Pros Bought in WI 11/30/2012,drove to AZ all around AZ back to WI some WI driving as of this date 4/7/2013 with 9850 miles avg.39.1 MPG at plus 5mph most speed limits some spurts at 85MPH. Rides and drives with fun!
Cons I have to pay for it.
Summary I'd buy it again in a heart beat!!!!!
Pros Nice ride, comfortable interior, quiet cabin, great touch screen, nice styling, awesome sound system and steering wheel controls.
Cons Nothing major, except the front seat needs to be adjusted as when I move in the seat I hear a "clicking" noise in the lower back area and the rear speaker cover needs to be looked at as I hear a bad vibration when listening to bass-heavy music.
Summary I was going to get the 13 Fusion hybrid but after test driving one for a full day it just didn't feel comfortable. The windshield was sloped a little more than normal, the side window-separator pillars were huge and the center console was wide giving it all a very confined feeling. Not to mention the "ledge" on the floor in front of the drivers seat that was annoying when it came to bending my left leg and resting my foot there as I do when driving. And I didn't care for the touch screen panels on the console. Also, the windshield wipers both swiped from the outside-in towards the middle, not the traditional swiping from right to left as we're all used to. That would take some getting used to. The Camry has none of these setbacks making it much more overall comfortable, enjoyable ride. And after seeing the Fusions on the road the past week or so they didn't impress me as much as when I first seen them. They look nice all shiny and new on the showroom floor but seeing them on the road there's just something about them I don't care for. They look smaller and out of proportion or something.
Anyway, the gas mileage the past week has been in the mid to upper 20's - low 30's but that's here in Chicago where it's been around 10-20 degrees. When the weather was warmer a few weeks ago I was averaging mid to upper 30's. And this is all with less than 1,000 miles on the car. I expect it only to improve with age in the upcoming months----I hope! LOL! But that's true of any car. I have an 04 Camry that I've been driving in this crappy weather the past few days (keeping my baby in the garage! LOL!) and the mpg is also suffering. When the weather was nicer a few weeks ago on one short 5 mile trip back from shopping and the gas station, I averaged 54.9 mpg. It leveled off back down to the mid to upper 30's after that but it was nice to see what it's capable of.
Overall I love it. I chose the Super White with the gray microsuede/leather trimmed interior. Now I'm just deciding whether or not to get some dark charcoal or black pinstripes on it.
Pros This car handles and is a pleasure to drive, or being a passenger. I loved the mpg, it's a relatively quite cabin. Our passengers on the first leg, added 380 pounds, plus luggage, plus one of them was 6'4 and was comfortable in front or rear seat.
Cons The only CON that I have, is, I do not have more trips planned, to drive this well executed machine. Toyota got this right and no one can prove me wrong.
Summary Picked up our new XLE Hybrid 12/16/11 and immediately drove 7300 miles, Vancouver, Wa to La Quinta, Ca comfortably for 17 hours with 4 people in a huge cabin. Mileage for that run, 37.8. La Quinta to Mesquite, Tx with only 2 of us, on both Freeway and back road,39.8 miles. Heading back home, we encountered head winds all the way, and from Burley, Id to The Dalles, Or, SNOW, sometimes as much as 4" - 6", slush that trucks in the right lane would hit and it would blind us temporally. Our mileage coming home set our total mileage back to 37.6 where it has stayed since we arrived home. I have driven cars almost this good, but that was 1981 - 1984 and the cars were BMW, yes a 320i that drove well in the snow and slush. Reviews should have some good distance mileage and mine does. This is not a first impression as a result of a trip or few, around the track. I now have 8300 miles, how many did the previous reviewer drive that Camry?Reading this post caused me to review the other comments by this poster. Nothing positive about any of the products. I'm not sure that they had contact with the two products written about. Two different Camry reviews, nothing in either that made me believe the poster had the least bit of contact with the product. Phone review was about smooth feel, only. Opinion should be based on education (experience), how did you arrive at your opinions? Just because you can think a thought, doesn't mean you are educated enough to review

Pros Except for the new online and screen at the front, the new camry feels so much like the older version it replaced!
Cons Embarrassing accents on the voice system! Not so quiet like some of it's competitors! Economy is not as great as advertised. In fact I could not get the economy advertised at all even with the older hybrid model.
Summary Almost everyone who seen this car says that it is so old looking like the one replaced! Maybe this is a good time to look elsewhere.
