Pros great sound, both high and low freq.
punchy bass
the remote is handy.
crank them hard and there is no distortion
variable output is a good idea.
they WILL make your music sound better right out of the box, and with the D1 it sounds even better!

Cons the price
they are a bit big for desktop speakers
while the bass is punchy, it does need ramping up on the EQ to get a good balance.
its worth getting the stands to go with, the tweeters are pretty directional
the front light wont turn off!

Summary while these speakers are kind of expensive, for near studio quality monitors these do the job really well and are worth the price. they are provide great detail and have a great full freq range even when your playing them loud. to get the most of them, you need to be at least 2 meters back, and as for using these as desktops, the A2's would be a better choice. the only real issue that i have with these is that the light stays on when the speakers are in sleep mode, but that is just a small niggle. I can say that without a doubt that you will be impressed with these speakers. just make sure you have at least 256kps songs and a descent sound card (the D1 external DAC is what im running and its made a noticeable difference)
