"Awesome sounding speakers"
Pros: Great sound quality, built solid, sharp looks in cherry finish
Cons: Size--possible low spousal approval
Summary: These speakers sound great! I use an HK 445 receiver to power these. I do not have them bi-wired or use an equalizers, etc. The sound comes straight from the receiver. They are matched with other Infity Beta speakers (C 360 center channel, 10's as left and right rear surrounds, a 250 for middle rear surrounds, and an SVS NSD 10 powered sub). These speakers blend seemlessly to the rest. I think that is a credit to the entire speaker series. Now, it is best if I describe my listening style. I watch a lot of movies in 7.1 surround. These speakers do not disappoint. All action sequences will come straight to you in a dynamic way. Gunfire, explosions, and things of the like will gain your attention for how realistic they sound. Music sounds great as well. Once again, I listen primarily in 7.1 surround mode. Everything sounds clear and concise. The highs are not too harsh, nor are they excessively bright. The mids are transparent. The bass is smooth and crisp. Granted these speakers are not quite full range, and a true audio enthusist will need a powered sub to reach the last few octavives. However, that is the case with many other speakers on the market. The only true negative would be their sheer size which could present a possible low spousal approval rating.
