Pros solid, full sound, perfect by the pool/patio
Cons one 50' length of speaker wire
Summary I was skeptical of how these would sound, but had seen a positive review on another site so thought I would test drive a pair. They sound so solid and full that I ended up getting 2 pairs for my pool/patio area.
That area is 2500 sq ft, and these speakers can fill it with quality sound. Nice to not have to mount anything either, just bury the wire in the wood chips.
The enclosures are a very strong FG/SMC compound and are silicone sealed on the bottom. I did a side by side with the Bose double cube HT speakers in the store. I was going to mount a pair in the covered patio area. The Bose paled in comparison, especially on the low and mid sections. They really need the subwoofer to fill out their sound. I have a pair of Bose 161's in my home gym and I actually think these little rocks sound better. I was planning to have to spend $100/speaker vs $100/pr, so this was a great ending at $87/pr from Best Buy.
