The highs are the most crisp you will ever hear. and the price is undeniable. -
"Fantastic Clarity!" on by wobble
Pros: Sure beats my old 2-way center speaker
Cons: There are NONE!
Summary: I recently purchased my EC35 from JBL/harmon/kardon factory in AZ for the tune of $150.00 including frt. I also bought their E30 and E10's to upgrade my 15 year old system. They said these speakers were refurbished. It does not say refurbished on the box and packaging is original. The EC35 is so distinct with clarity, it is music to my ears compared to my old 2-way. Now I know why they say the center speaker is the most critical piece of equipment. My cherry wood EC35 is suspended above my 50 inch Samsung HDTV with slight tilt towards the audience. This center speaker will be with me for a long time!

"Clean, sharp, balanced sound!" on by Geckoz100
Pros: Very heavy and solid (22 lbs.) I bought this to replace an Onkyo HTIB center speaker and was amazed at the improvement. Great, crisp sound. I'm amazed at how I can even hear people breathing as they speak. Produces a good amount of bass too.
Cons: Can't really think of any. People keep mentioning size, but if you want big sound, very hard to get without big size, unless you pay big $$$.
Summary: Fabulous sound for the money. Elegant, muscular styling. Gotta have it.
When I bought this speaker second-hand I wasn't expecting it to be so beefy, and it sure is impressive when you're holding it. I bought this to replace an Onkyo HTIB center speaker and was amazed at the improvement. Great, crisp sound. I was also surprised at how I can now hear a good amount of bass coming from the center. -
"Fine fidelity" on by RMax304823
Pros: Low price, great sound
Cons: Needs distance
Summary: The unit produces a full frequency range without problems. I used it to replace an inexpensive Jensen and have owned it for about six months with no problem. I should note, though, that sitting too close (< 5 ft) makes higher frequencies sound piercing from some sources. Placing it a few more feet away corrected the problem.

"Northridge is Awesome" on
Pros: Terrific sound in a great priced speaker. The cabinet is attractive (as are all Northridge) and for a home theatre would be hard to beat
Cons: Pretty big - but that is what is takes
