Klipsch Reference Series RF-62 (left / right channel speakers)

Summary: I'm using an Onkyo 608 reciever and klipsch hd1000 surround speakers, using the RF62's for front of course replacing a set of Bose301's. They are much clearer and efficient along with better sound all round than the Bose. I was able to get a steal at a local Ultimate Electronics store for $299 each, last pair they had. my system is well balanced with plenty of volume due to efficiency of these speakers. I only am running 100 watts per ch. and shake the building I'm in with ease if I want. I would recommend these at $100 more than I paid. compared to Kef, jbl, other klipsch and others in the $ range but these remind me more of the older Klipsch sound than any other I heard.

Summary: I have owned these speakers for 2 years now. I can not complain. They are excellent. Don't be put off by the 35Hz bass spec. They can really perform.

If you appreciate good rock music, do yourself a favor, when testing these speakers in a store, bring along these songs.

Pink Floyd: Money
Metallica: Enter Sand Man
Madonna: Hung up
Chris Isaak: Baby did a bad bad thing

The Chris Isaak track is a torture test for any speaker as it gets extremely busy in the mid-ranges - this was a real eye opener for me as Many other more expensive speakers could not properly handle it. (There is also a very impressive Bass crash at about the 6 second mark). The Klipsch speakers play it perfectly.

Movies are excellent too. I have the CS-52 center channel and it is a perfect match.
