"These will certainly trump most "PC Speakers""
4.0 starson by zeitfliesstPros: -Clear sound with enough power to fill a small room
-Performance/cost ratio is greatCons: -Slightly bulky and can take up some space
-Low-range only goes down to 85Hz
-Very directionalSummary: I was searching for decent enough speakers that would replace my old Creative T20, and I ended up with the AV40 despite heavy consideration between these and the Swan 1080MkII 08. Turns out that these speakers are certainly an upgrade over the T20 presenting a much clearer, fuller sound. I would say that it would be around a 75% increase in overall performance. I was worried that the bass would be weak, but it certainly makes its presence known although it doesn't go deep enough because of the limited low-range frequency reproduction. I imagine a subwoofer like the Dayton SUB-100 would be a great compliment to the AV40. Also, one thing important to mention is that these are quite directional, meaning that I needed to raise the height of these by about 15cm (6") to get the optimal sound. I strongly recommend raising the height of these to near ear-level, as there will be a considerable difference.
