Would give these speakers 5 stars if not for their size. Returned Bose Companion 5's because they added too much coloring to 2 channel music as they are better suited for gaming or simulated surround for movies. The M-Audio BX5 D2's produced rich vocals with tight bass and a flat response. Don't buy if you want exaggerated bass response. The setup is somewhat different as they require mini to dual TRS or XLR connectors which can be purchased from a professional audio store. You'll want to plug them into a strip bar that is controlled (i.e. switched) by the start-up of your computer otherwise you have to turn each speaker on/off manually. If the setup is not an issue for you---then you'll be pleased with the M-Audio BX5 D2's sound quality
