Pros After a month of owning 2 of these, I purchased 2 more. Pro: Time-of-day is self setting. Pro: controllable when away from the house as well as when sitting on the couch.Pro: controllable and programmable remotely.
Cons Con: Wifi setup glitch; not compatible with wpa2. out of the box. (Firmware upgrade solved this) Con: A bit pricey compared to std. timer.
Summary Once set up these work very well. I believe the wifi issue is/will be addressed by the latest firmware version. I had temporarily open up wifi until the auto-firmware update. After the update I re-instated wpa2 and it worked fine. If I were not a little tech savvy I would have had to return these items. I did get prompt response from customer service (next day response to email) however at that time I had already resolved the issue.) Their response would have been less than helpful I will admit.
Pros Easy Set Up, Easy Interface
Cons Does occasionally drop an outlet in the app but seems to come back in the app pretty quick.
Summary Even if I'm not seeing the device in my app.. the outlet still turns on and off as programmed.
I have some set to Sunset and they seemed to turn on at dusk.
I'm sure it's not exact.
You can set multiple schedules for appearance of random turn on/off on various days.
So far, I'm pleased that it's doing what I want and the set up of several outlets was easily done in an hour.
Pros Update is a lot faster and makes is a lot easier to use and understand.
Cons WeMotion rarely work properly. In fact I just stuck in back in the box.
Summary Works great for a few things like lights and my christmas tree. WeMotion needs some work but great idea.
Pros If it is actually working, you can control your lights with your smart phone.
Cons Wemo doesn't work. Very hard to configure and often drops its network connection. The sunrise/sunset feature doesn't work - the lights come on at random times. Cust. svc.in India sucks and they know very little about the product or how it works.
Summary I am very disappointed with this product. It feels like Belkin rushed it to market before the bugs were worked out. I do not like paying $50 per switch to be a beta tester. Belkin can and should do much better than this.
