LG Marquee (Boost Mobile) Reviewed on 02/11/2012

The Bottom Line: The LG Marquee's slim design and jam-packed feature set make it Boost Mobile's flagship phone. But its high price (even without a contract) and slow processor will make it a tough sell.

Specs: Boost Mobile, 3.95 oz, 4 in

Motorola Droid 4 (Verizon Wireless)

Motorola Droid 4 (Verizon Wireless) Reviewed on 02/10/2012

The Bottom Line: Melding an excellent keyboard, swift LTE data, and a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor into one Android device, the Motorola Droid 4 is long overdue. Fans of the first Motorola Droid will find plenty to smile about here, but those who aren't married to a QWERTY may not enjoy carrying around such a massive phone.

Specs: Verizon Wireless, LTE, 6.31 oz, 4 in

BlackBerry Curve 9370 (Verizon Wireless)
  • Editors' rating: s3h stars
      Overall score: 7.6 (3.5 stars)
BlackBerry Curve 9370 (Verizon Wireless) Reviewed on 02/08/2012

The Bottom Line: Verizon's BlackBerry Curve 9370 brings you BlackBerry 7 OS and a global-ready SIM slot in an ultraportable package. Unfortunately, some design flaws and a high price for an entry-level device make the QWERTY handset hard to recommend to anyone except BlackBerry devotees.

Specs: Verizon Wireless, GSM / CDMA, Up to 300 min (GSM), Up to 330 min (CDMA), With digital camera / digital player, 3.49 oz, 2.4 in

Samsung Replenish - onyx black (Boost Mobile) Reviewed on 02/04/2012

The Bottom Line: Keep in mind that the Samsung Replenish is an entry-level smartphone, and you may enjoy the Android handset's QWERTY keyboard and camera. If it's quick browsing you're after, keep looking.

Specs: Boost Mobile, CDMA2000 1X, Up to 324 min, With digital camera / digital player, 4.1 oz, 2 megapixels, 2.8 in

T-Mobile MyTouch Q (gray) Reviewed on 02/02/2012

The Bottom Line: If you absolutely crave a physical keyboard and swift 4G data for less, you'll find plenty to like about T-Mobile's MyTouch Q. More selective smartphone shoppers, however, will want to look elsewhere.

Specs: T-Mobile, WCDMA (UMTS) / GSM, Up to 198 min, With digital camera / digital player, 5.6 oz, 5 megapixels, 3.5 in

Huawei Ascend II (U.S. Cellular) Reviewed on 02/01/2012

The Bottom Line: The Huawei Ascend II comes at an unbeatable price for an Android smartphone, but the trade-off is getting lower-end features that sometimes underperform.

Specs: U. S. Cellular, CDMA, Up to 300 min, With digital camera / digital player / FM radio, 4.8 oz, 5 megapixels, 3.5 in

LG Spectrum (Verizon Wireless)
  • Editors' rating: s4 stars

      Overall score: 9.2 (4.5 stars)
LG Spectrum (Verizon Wireless) Reviewed on 01/28/2012

The Bottom Line: The LG Spectrum's clean design brings preppy style to some of the fastest 4G LTE data speeds around. The smartphone's attention to HD is admirable, but a few interface and performance flaws could scare away some.

Specs: Verizon Wireless, CDMA2000 1X, Up to 498 min, With digital camera / digital player, 4.99 oz, 8 megapixels, 4.5 in

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx (Verizon Wireless)

Motorola Droid Razr Maxx (Verizon Wireless) Editors' choice Reviewed on 01/27/2012

The Bottom Line: The Motorola Droid Razr Maxx proves that a powerful Android superphone can remain thin yet still promise marathon-worthy battery life. If you can live without Ice Cream Sandwich and have big hands, the Maxx is extremely compelling.

Specs: Verizon Wireless, CDMA2000 1X, Up to 1290 min, With digital camera / digital player / FM radio, 5.11 oz, 8 megapixels, 4.3 in

LG Connect 4G (MetroPCS)

The Bottom Line: For now, I would say that the LG Connect 4G is a desirable phone. Although the screen resolution and battery life are nothing to throw a parade for, people who love the freedom of MetroPCS will be pleased to know that they can still get the zippiness of a 4G, dual-core, feature-packed phone they have come to expect from other more expensive carriers.

Specs: MetroPCS, LTE, 4 in
