"Still missing some vital (IMHO) options"
Pros: 3G data network compatable
Cons: Still can't read old sim cards, bluetooth crippled
Summary: Since I haven't used the new phone this review is only based on the fact that, IMHO, the new iPhone is still missing some vital functionality.
Firstly, it still can't read the contacts off an old sim card without jailbreaking it. I mean really, that's such a basic function. In my case I'd be stepping up from a basic cell to an iPhone and I really do not want to hand reenter over 200 contacts. I guess if you're moving from another smart phone where your data is already stored on outlook or another compatable contact manager it's not such a big deal but it's a deal breaker for me.
Secondly, the bluetooth profile is still crippled. There is no word that they have finally added the drivers to allow for file transfer between phones (to send over pictures, CONTACTS, etc.)

leogoku - we're lucky to have cameras on phones?
I'm sorry, but no half-decent - no, absolutely no phones on the market right now lack a camera. If your local phone retailers are still selling phones without cameras, they need to get new phones in. Even my friend's three-year-old Sony Ericsson regular cell phone has a camera and video recording. Both are have terrible picture quality, yes, but Apple needs to get a reality check if phones several years old have video function and their own revolutionary product doesn't. As a matter of fact, the last phone I remember anyone I knew using that had no camera would be at least four or five years old by now.
Bottom line, there is no way that such a new phone can be allowed to skimp on functions available on regular phones that are years old. -
I hate Apple and its iPhone, but it is completely idiotic to write a review for an item you don't own, and on top of that to MENTION that you don't own it. People like you skew the system, it's a shame.

You can pull contacts off the sim card with the 2.0 software.

I guess that's the problem with reviewing a product you've never touched - you don't see the option in settings to import SIM Contacts.
Why do people even bother posting reviews about a product they don't own? -
But it is so so pretty! I guess I would agree if you do really need the features that it is missing then it is not the phone for you. For someone like me who has never used the voice dialing on my phone, and don't really mind going to my e mail account to get attachments or contacts specially when I can easily get to them on my phone, it is a worth while device....and come on who can resist monkey balls? Yeah the "old woman" comment was uncalled for I would have to agree...go cougars.

you can transfer contacts from an old phone to a thumb drive and transfer that file to outlook and put them on the iphone. really? its like people complaining about the camera not taking videos or sending mms. u are lucky to even have a camera. and did you know that every phone has an "email"? usually its: yournumber@yourprovider.com. stop complaining and ask around to solve these really small complaints. you sound like an old woman that doesnt know how to even answer a call on a cell phone and complains about it
