  • "Nice phone for what I need it to do"
    on by M5er

Pros Display is really nice; colorful and sharp. The touch-screen is very intuitive to use, and makes using the phone a pleasant experience. The internet function is excellent for a cell phone. The iPod portion of the phone is very impressive.

Cons The battery drains more quickly than I am used to, but my other phones were pretty basic. Typing takes adjusting to. The phone feels solidly built and well made but hardly "rugged". The call volume could still be a little bit louder.

Summary I am a professional (engineer) and I don't use this phone as a business device. I use it for 1) calling 2) texting 3) e-mail functions and 4) everything else. I have had the phone about 2 days, and just recently updated to the latest version. For me, it's a really fun phone to use. It's newer technology, but it doesn't feel gimmicky. I might be blinded to "problems" because I'm not used to the flashiness/technology, but it's a solid-feeling device that performs well for what I need it to do. My only real concern so far is the battery life. I took some advice and turned off all but one of the email pushes, turned the brightness down, etc, which seems to help. But I can definitely see how using all the functions "maxed out" would require re-charges often. A minor quibble is the volume level on calls. It's not bad, but a little louder (maybe 20%?) would be ideal. The phone feels "solid", and seems to be a well-made device, but rugged? No way. Several people I work with speak really highly of their phones, but they don't use it for business, more for personal use. I can see how those used to Blackberries might need something more than what this phone has to offer, but for the person looking to talk, text, use email functions and listen to music, I'm hard-pressed to find better bang for your buck. The technology, great display, ease of use and "cool" factor sold it for me. But let's see if I'm singing a different song if/when it develops a problem...
