Pros Push Notifications between apps (long time coming but finally here and they work)
Decent video camera+ Video Editing
No phone reception issues so far and fast 3g net access
Speed!!! Fastest phone ive ever used (including the Pre!)
Just perfect so far
Cons Some speculative new features didnt come through
I would have prefered to have a metal casing in black instead of a black plastic one... I dont really believe the metal casing killed the wireless signal
Summary I waited in line from 3 am to finally get the phone Ive wanted from generation 1. Very happy that i finally got an iPhone with absolutely no problems. I didnt reserve the phone but got the phone in under 7 mins after doors opened on launch day. I am really happy I finally got one far more usable then my previous phones in several areas plus i finally have an ipod/iphone that works perfectly with my infiniti G :D
Ever since the very first iPhone I have wanted one and have gone through many phones since then blackjack 2, a blackberry, a htc touch pro and such. Never really came to give me much usefulness or the experience.
It is deffintely faster then my cousins iPhone 3g with which i played around today, and also faster then the palm pre my other cousin just bought. (We timed ours several times and the 3g S always won sometimes by a slight margin sometimes by a long one).
Other then that it features the great interface and app store of the previous iphones but now also features push notifications which makes multi taskin vastly unnecessary. havent found a need for multi taskin when the apps open up in less then a second in the state they were left when i answered a push notification.
My cousin recently bought a palm pre and the iphone seriously beats it in all possible ways. I am very very happy that I finally got an iphone and it has lived upto all my expectations.
btw all the people who reviewed the phone before owning one suck.... all either haters or over hyped fan boys ... common u gotta have the device to review it.
Pros Lots of gadgets and plenty of things to keep you busy. A very fun toy.
Cons I've already had the SIM card changed. It won't recognize or drops WIFI even when its not moving. I am .5 mi from where i purchased it and I can't get a phone signal home or at work 1 mile from home.
Summary I'm home right now and not only do I not have a signal it says no service. REDICULOUS!! Just get the ipod touch to play with on wifi, go to verizon to get an actuall PHONE. I never, ever dropped calls or couldn't make a call.... ever.... period. I hate verizons billing and phones are just ok, but I'm going back today. 30 return policy with a 10% restock fee at AT&T. I trouble shot and used the crap out of this otterboxed Iphone, and its just not for calls or texts.
Pros Faster than the iPhone 3G, Voice Command, Compass, Video Camera plus with editing, iPhone 3.0, Faster multi-touch keyboard, MMS and more. The iPhone 3G S' design fool's
people than the way they think.
Cons Battery life is improved as Apple said, but reports on some websites that reported battery defects, overheating after an hour. If these keep happening, Apple needs to recall the battery or update the iPhone 3.1 software.
Summary The iPhone 3G S delivers as Apple promised it would, but the battery did promise a better life span, but the battery has defects that could overheat, of change the color of a white iPhone 3G S to pink. After an hour with my new iPhone 3G S I got yesterday at the AT&T Store, the back of our black iPhone felt very warm. I rate this an A, Apple is the best smartphone manufacturer I ever had!I love this phone very much than any phone because my mom liked it after we got the iPhones [She likes playing the games on it]. Before she thought the Blackberry Storm was a good phone compared to th iPhone, but as the iPhone 3GS came out, we convinced her to not get the Storm because it's heavy, press-hard touchscreen, Verizon plans for it was a tiny bit expensive, and I thought the AT&T plans were a tiny cheaper. GO iPhone!

Pros When u do get on WiFi its blazing fast
Cons Major Wifi problem
Same phone as 3g
Summary My bottom line is that I have followed all of the steps Apple has outlined to gain Wifi signal. My laptop has full bars yet the 3gs will disconnect from WiFi and throw me back on edge. This would not be such a huge issue if I had 3g coverage but I live in a small town and only get edge lamo. I should have stayed with the 3g this whole experience is making Sprint's 100 bucks everything included plan looking more appealing.
Pros There really is nothing to say
Cons It is expensive. There are plenty or smartphones for a better deal that also have a keyboard.
Summary Apple has managed to make a big deal about updating the iphone but Apple really has not.
