"Wonderfully brilliant. Some minor problems." on by Crazr744

Pros: The device feels great in your hand and it doesn't feel so bulky like other PDAs do. Easy to use interface and makes you want to use it a lot. Video capture, turn-by-turn, compass support in Maps, and a nice clean design that is easy on the eyes.

Cons: Still waiting for the Multimedia Messaging and Tethering from AT&T, and there is no USB mass file exchange support yet. Also, there is no multitasking. Mainly carrier issues.

Summary: All of the features on this phone are wonderful. The video capture was easy to use and to "trim" directly on the phone. I enjoyed the new features like Voice Memos, Spotlight, Voice Control, and faster processor. The Voice Memos app is very clean and polished. One button to start recording, one to review past recordings. Voice quality when listening to memo is wonderful. The Spotlight feature is one of my favorites on this device. Search through your device to find exactly what you're looking for fast. I use it to search for a specific song quickly, and also for finding a contact. With a snappier processor, apps open and load faster, like Safari. Pages download from the server faster so can surf the web with more efficiency. The compass integration with the Maps application is very cool. The map changes its orientation to show where the tip of the iPhone is "looking". The apps purchased from the App Store load up faster than on the past models of the iPhone. The iPhone 3GS is a very slick device that you can't put down due to its mouth-watering appeal. With minor problems that can be fixed in the near future, this device is definitely worth considering.

"It's really not a bad phone" on by narn3049

    Pros: READ SUMMARY

    Cons: READ SUMMARY

Summary: I purchased this phone in 2009and LOVED it to death honestly. Kept it in good shape, and downloaded tons of apps in it lol. It was dropped a couple of times and one time had to have the glass replaced. It worked good, and then it just decided to not power on any more. i got a droid after. It's not a bad looking phone, i love the phone. It rocks.

"The best iPhone of it's generation." on by FauxGeek

Pros: Can do everything the previous 3 models couldn't do:
    Copy & Paste
    Send pics in MMS
    Video record
An app for just about anything
    White in color
    Organize apps in folders
    Frequent useful updates
    Can run Opera

Cons: Limited to run Apple approved products, no open-source or free form
Have to pay for most of the good apps
    Not able to hook-up bluetooth
Started to run very slowly after apple-care expired(hmmm)
Reception not great, terrible, non-existent even

Summary: If you LOVE Apple then you will love all of their products not matter what the make. Easily compatible to your Mac. You can easily be the envy of the NIU's(non-iPhone users) maybe.Be prepared to spend some money on downloading apps and have a back-up plan when you can't find a reception. For me it's become an iTouch for my kids to play The Guardian Of Cloudagate

"The best phone I've ever owned" on by ThreeCrows33

    Pros: + Multitasking.
    + Super user friendly.
+ Easy app store searching/buying/downloading experience.
    + GPS works great.

    Cons: + AT&T Service
    + No flash
    + Auxiliary jack

Summary: I've had my 3GS since May of 2010. Every once in a while we get in fights; however, it usually has to do with good 'ol AT&T more than it does the actual functionality of the phone.

I have friends with the 4G and I must say that I'm happy I still have my 3GS. I know the design is more bulky than the 4G, but the thing works and I don't have to worry about the antenna issue.

The camera doesn't have a flash (obviously); however, the photos I have taken with my 3GS have been pretty darn good - considering it's a phone.

I love the simple things, like the calling features: seeing where a person is calling from, the voicemail box, the ability to search on Safari for a location and then being able to call the person just by tapping on the number provided in Safari.

My only real complaint or dislike, has been the wear and tear on the auxiliary jack on the top of the phone. Sadly all my Pandora car listening has resulted in my aux jack getting worn out, so that the connection from the cord to my car speakers/home speakers sometimes fluctuates the sound.

Overall I have been extremely satisfied with my first iPhone, the 3GS, and would recommend this to anyone looking for a fun and user friendly experience. Just wish they would ditch AT&T or AT&T would pump up their cell reception quality.

"Feature-full, but lacking hype." on by ucancallmenickk

Pros: Small-ish 3 megapixel camera takes good photos when focused, great touch screen, texting is easy, everything's compatible with it, sound quality through headphones & AUX.

Cons: Everyone has iPhones, can't change text tones, plastic, easily gets scratched, old (Original) one felt higher quality, no flash for camera, zoom sucks, call quality, speaker phone is quiet, coolness is gone, no memory expansion.

Summary: I'm over the iPhone, it's not interesting anymore and there is so much competition now. I decided to make the switch to Android. I'm going Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 this time, yay for expandable memory!
