"This is a great product!"
4.0 starson by js4030Pros: Navigating through the menu structure is very intuitive and very user friendly. The phone settings are very flexible and accommodating to individual needs. Screen is large and bright. Tons of fun free apps. Better than expected battery life.
Cons: The phone is the week part and not necessarily because of AT&T service as I will explain later.
Summary: I have had this phone since Sept of 09. You should note that this is my first smart phone with these capabilities so when I first picked it up I was amazed at it's functionality, everything that I had been missing in the last 2 years or so. My previous phone was a Moto Razzer. When I picked it up, they set up my email both work and private accounts for me at the AT&T store and they have worked flawlessly. I soon added a third myself, very easy to do.
Battery life has been better than I expected....I charge it on average once every other day. I did buy the extended warranty simply because of the fixed battery that a technician has to replace. I had problems with syncing up with I Tunes correctly so that the apps did not disappear on the phone. Apple techs walked me thru the issues and corrected it Also, make sure you have the latest operating system 3.1.2.....3.1.0 has serious flaws which I personally experienced for about 2 weeks which Apple corrected with the .2 version almost immediately.
I bought this phone for my Real Estate business and it has really paid off. I can access properties when I am out with customers, give turn by turn directions from the google map while on the phone to lost clients and do just about everything as if I'm at my computer.
The downside to this phone is the phone itself. I can't say that I have had a lot of dropped calls per say but when comparing the phones signal sensitivity to say my wife's Blackberry Bold, it doesn't hold up. For example, we were in a downtown Chicago condo garage and I needed to make a call and of course I had no signal. My wife's Bold had good signal however and she was able to make the phone call.....and we are both on AT&T. That is probably the only positive thing we have found with the Blackberry however. She would much rather have the I-phone.
The apps are a lot of fun and so many are free to the user. I think I have only had to pay for 1 so far and that particular application was essential to my line of work as a Realtor. All in all I have not regretted buying this phone in fact I love it. I just wish Apple would put some beef into the phones signal sensitivity, and then it would be terrific!!!
