"Snappy, Sleek, and siri!"4.5 starson by dinjin201
Pros: Dual core A5 (2x processing power)
better graphics (7x faster than the iPhone 4)
Better antenna (no death grip)
Nice 8MP camera
1080p HD video recording
More battery life.
Cons: No LTE 4G (the phone DOES have HSPA+, which AT&T calls 4G)
Summary: I don't think that the iPhone 4s is worth upgrading to for someone who has the iPhone 4. The reason apple switched to a 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S is because of the fact that contracts are usually for 2 years. They do NOT intend for iPhone 4 users to upgrade to a 4S after 1 year, they expect you to wait 2 years and then get the iPhone 5 when it comes out.
Now, the iPhone 4S is definitely the snappiest and smoothest iPhone yet. It feels great to use, and call quality is fantastic.
Speed on HPSA+ is nowhere near TRUE 4G (LTE) which is a disappointment, especially when we already see other LTE phones coming out. However, it's a small price to pay for the wealth of apps, and a fantastic user experience.
Battery life is great on this phone, and the 8 mp camera takes fantastic pictures with better light and color balancing than I've ever seen! :) Finally the 1080p HD video is a nice touch, but does hog a lot of memory (150 Mb/ minute) and is by no means meant for extended recording.
iOS 5 is the best mobile operating system ever. It's fantastic at everything it does, and I have no issues with it. :)
It's the feature everyone thought was stupid, and it's hard to convince someone until they use it. That's when things get interesting - It's finally an actual AI. Most voice control just accepts commands like call ______. If you say a variation like please call _____ it doesn't understand it. It's like the old days of computing when you had a blank screen, and everything required a direct command, stated perfectly.
Siri is smart enough to carry a conversation with. Not only can I ask it: "What is the weather today?" I can ask siri, "Do I need an umbrella" and it understands that umbrellas are used in the rain so I must be asking about weather. Then, instead of just showing me the weather, it goes as far as replying with "It does look like it will rain today!"
Siri isn't the voice control that so many people make it out to be - instead, it's an onboard AI.
For an iPhone 3Gs owner, this iPhone 4S is a great upgrade! :)
