I dont need a slow second rate IPOD! Phone is terrible, APP's are terrible. NO expansion. NO High Speed Data! etc etc Its a nice looking paperweight though! Older Treo's; Samsung I series even Blackberry's run circles around it...

Yes, some people did have the Iphone before it's June "official" release date. Like many other products, it was pre-released to certain demographic test groups first. Therefore, these individuals could be the one's rating the phone (except for the smartass who insisted on starting this thread). therefore, their ratings are just as valid as those posted after the release date, since none of those users had to verify their use of the iphone either before rating the phone.

HOW DID HE KNOW IT WAS 10/10?!?!?!?

User rating averages are WORTHLESS when done by people who are not users! To everyone giving ratings, thanks for making this great feature cnet provides worthless!

I do not see how anyone can review any product when they do not have it. Most of the comments are based on speculation, features that have been changed (battery life, plastic screen now glass screen), total idiots and from those who are not AT&T customers. I will wait until it actually goes on sale and hear from those who are using it.

the iphone is not even out yet. no customer has used it yet, so here is another reason why cnet is a stupid web site for reviews. don't let people vote until it comes out.
but on the true note of the phone, it has nothing new, nothing cool, and if you wasted money on itunes music, then you are just stupid. you are apple's ***** for life. unless you re-buy every song you own. the iphone will have buzz, but it will die out shortly after. cingular sucks, so the phone is not going to have access to a depenable network. and it is going to cost the same as a full size desktop computer. but still people will buy it, because they can't help choosing their own path. just who cares about the iphone? it is nothing new. -
I posted something similar before the PS3 came out. CNET should have an "comment" section open before the item comes out in order to facilitate discussion, but 200+ user "opinons" by fanboys, haters, and people who just want to ask questions or discuss? Crazy!
OPEN A DISCUSSION BOARD! -
I can live with the fact you gave this phone a ten out of ten, but really, what did you base your score on? You don't have the phone, have not used the phone and have not had the opportunity to test this device yet you give it a ten? why not a five? Why not somewhere down the middle? Are you just on the Apple bandwagon like many people and hoping it will do well? I would really like to know why you want to post a review when you have no idea. If you need a bandwagon, let the masses know.................

I'm sorry, but you all are a bunch of morons to think that this guy is stupid for saying that CNET should lock the reviews! So what if he gave it a ten? He's only staing his view that CNET needs to lock the reviews, and he's right! Apple has months to update and fix anything with the iPhone and at this point, we have limited information about it except it will be in 4 and 8 gig models, its got OS X, and some other features! Thank you PB G4, I do agree with you here man!

Seriously are you that much of a d**s**e. People are making comments on how much it costs and how you could just use a phone as a phone instead of buying the Caddy of phones.
-
The phone hasn't been released yet; no one can have a user rating at this point; only a few non-apple folks have even got to handle one much less use it.
Yet you rate it a '10'.
Interesting. -
It says "User Opinions".
