Sometimes jobs is a genuis sometimes he is an idiot why he tied it to one network is dumb i hate at&t because they are the most expensive out there and everything they offer is more costly than the competition the reason macs dont own the market is because of his insane desire to control everything you buy the battery issue insures i will never buy an i phone it is such a low and cheap way to make money.

Having tried Nextel (nightmare), Sprint (okay not the greatest in phone choices) Verizon (much higher cost) and At&t, At&t is the best I have been with them now for Three years. I do like your pros and cons so as for At&t they offer alot for the money of the media coverages. Can not get better unfortunatly the iphone doesn't have many of the great media options most At&t phones have. Roll over minutes are the greatest I use to use up all my Sprint and NExtel minutes and have to keep changing my plan. I do pay close to the same but have never had to up my plan and have less minutes than any other plan so it is worth a few extra cents if any. It is what it is without any tricks or crazy bills arriving as others have. International was high but I have not tried others for that.

As for the iphone itself - pros - It is the most prettiest phone out there. The touch screen is incrediable. It really is nice. Mp3 is very good, love the youtube (my first time trying it) internet is cool for a phone.

Cons - touch screen gets so dirty, have to clean it all the time and still looks smudgy, No MEDIA NET OR UPLOADING OF RINGTONES ( very very disappointing in this day) At&t has a great media net not being used really stinks and most of there smartphones have all updated that, Keyboard is hard to use never seem to hit all the right keys, speaker isn't load. Not many options available like many other phones out now in any price range. Sim card inside is bad if you have most of your pics and contacts on your sim card. Not a good idea and how to change the battery is still a mystery also not a good idea.

Over all it is a very pretty phone but could be so much better with the media net. It has all the music options but can't transfer them unbelievable.

I have been reading up quite a bit on the iphone. Sramana Mitra on her blog had mentioned how the iPhone would affect the future. And it now seems to be coming true. Here's a really thoughtful analysis by Sramana Mitra oniPhone and the Future by Sramana Mitra.

Ok first off Im glad that you didnt just bash this product for no reason. Second I do agree with some of the things you mentioned. For example, a second camera on the front would be great for video conferencing, but at the same time I think this is not really aimed at the bussiness man. 2. A flight plan app like in dashboard? This could very easily be made, since Apple will allow companies to make certain widgets.3. About the ringtones, I do agree with you that we should be able to use our own songs as ringtones, but nothing has been said about ringtones yet, so lets wait on that. 4. I GPS program would also be nice, but I dont think its a deal breaker. 5. Come on now? a package tracking app? Use the internet on the iPhone to track your package. 6. A speech feature, once again I think this is being a little too picky. I mean how many people really need this feature for Apple to put it in there? 7. Not sure what they have in mind for iChat yet, but AT&T has a plan for $5 unlimited text messages. In the end I must say that I think the iPhone is an Amazing product, and I dont bash you if you disagree, but look at this...some of the higest memory available in a phone to this date, the best MP3 (IMO) there is...not just on a phone, but period. GREAT user interface, great touch screen a level above almost any other touch screen out there (for a phone) and ofcourse it is aesthetically pleasing.
