"Best phone and iPod I've used"5.0 starson by btr1389
Pros: Beautiful/bright display, safari is a great browser, storage size is large enough for someone who doesn’t have movies/videos, phone app is great, best iPod out there, touch interface is very responsi
Cons: Speaker is very quiet and can distort, EDGE network isn’t the fastest, no mms or video recording but those can be fixed with updates and the SDK that should come out soon.
Summary: -Feels great in my hand and is solid
-Every phone should have the ringer on/off switch
SCREEN-The glass screen won’t scratch by just being in your pocket or by anything short of rubbing it on cement
KEYBOARD-I personally think the virtual keyboard is excellent. I have pretty big hands and I could type faster than my friends who have enV's and Blackberry's after about a month, and they've had those phones for almost a year. Once you learn to trust the predictive/corrective software, you can type very fast. I only wish you could text in horizontal mode
GOOGLE MAPS-It’s awesome and has helped me many times. The GPS like locator is right on the dot when you are around a wi-fi signal but the locator that triangulates you from cell sites is often a mile off, which is horrible
YOUTUBE-The mobile quality is about the same as what is on the actual website but when you have a wi-fi signal, the video is very clear and much better than the actual Youtube website
CAMERA-The camera is very good for just being a digital sensor without a lens. The pictures are clear in good light, and ok in poor lit areas. If it could take video, even bad quality videos, it would be much better. People have complained that you can’t do anything from the camera other than take a picture. Honestly, who uses the cheesy frames or little editing software on camera phones anyway? They’re not much good for anything other than a “Hey, look what I can do” moment once or twice and then you forget you have it. Also, people complain that there is no zoom. Well, after you take the picture, zoom in. If there was a zoom, it would be the same quality after the picture was taken
WEATHER-The weather app is great. It’s simple and I haven’t found a city that is not covered
ALARMS-If you’re like me and set a lot of alarms, then the alarm/timer application is perfect for you. It’s very easy to set up an alarm or timer
NOTES-I love the notes application. It’s very simple and straightforward. I write a lot of notes and it works perfectly for me. The option to send the note through email is very nice too.
iTUNES-The mobile iTunes store is neat but I never use it. It needs wi-fi and I prefer to buy songs on my computer
PHONE-Oh yeah, it has a phone too. It’s easy to find any contact fast. If you put someone on your “Favorites” (speed dial) then you can make a phone call in a few seconds. And the list is not limited by the size of your keypad like normal speed dials. Visual voicemail is awesome, if you missed a part, no need to listen to it again, just rewind to the part you missed
E-MAIL-The mail app is great. I have two emails (Gmail and Comcast) and it works great with both. It’s pretty basic but it satisfies my needs and gets the job done.
INTERNET-Safari is by far the best mobile browser. It’s smooth and if you’re on wi-fi, its crazy fast. I wish it had Macromedia Flash but I’ve learned to live with out it. Sometimes when I’m on EDGE, Safari randomly quits, which is annoying but doesn’t happen too often. It’s nice to have the Internet in your pocket
iPOD-The iPod is amazing and far superior to the click wheel iPod. I can go to any song within seconds.
All in all, I love with this phone and Apple did a great job making it. It’s not perfect but darn near close to it. I've had mine since september and I've never gotten sick or bored of using it.
