"Great All Around Product!!!"
Pros: Querty Keyboard, Great Tools, Clear Screen, Has Everything!!
Cons: Low Volume, Low Ringer, Unable to link Voice Command to headset
Summary: To anyone looking to combine a cellphone, PDA, portable e-mail, internet browser and anything else you want this thing to do, it can do! I would highly encourage anyone who buys this product to purchase a Bluetooth headset(due to the low volume on the actual headset), Voice Command(for high ease of navigation) and the $44.99 feature addition offered by Verizon(to not have any worries about how much you can surf the web). I have tossed out my Palm T3 and old Verizon phone with this monster!! Only complaints I have is that it cannot link Voice Command with the Bluetooth headset, so in order to voice command you need to talk to the actual phone, which isn't that big of a inconvience if you don't mind it..which I don't. Also the headset looses Bluetooth connection when the phone goes into sleep mode. Overall GREAT BUY!! if you don't mind forking out a few hundred bucks.Updated
Ok folks, I've had my XV6600WOC for about a month now and I've pretty much done all the research possible for this phone to make it the best utility you can have!!
Here goes:
Problem: low ringer volume
Solution: go to Handago.com and buy the Recon Ringer for $8.00 well worth it. Problem: Bluetooth problems with loosing connectivity.
Solution: Go to the Audiovox website and install the upgrade patch for this phone. ***IMPORTANT*** Backup all your data using your XBackup program on your XV6600 DON'T USE ACTIVESYNC!!.
Problem: Low Volume On Headset.
Solution: Invest in a Bluetooth headset(personally using Tekkeon EZ-talker, great tool).
Problem: Hard Navigation
Solution: Invest in the Voice Command program on Handago.com and become a savy user..great once you learn what you can use it for!!
Problem: Wireless Sync problems
Solution: Check your configuration, I've had no problems with mine since I've set it up.
Overall you might need to spend a little more money than you had intended, but since you've already forked out the 500 or so bucks into the phone, might as well spend the extra $100 or so bucks to make it work how you want it to.Updated
Problem: Battery Life to short
Solution: If you don't have a car charger, buy one, everytime you go into your car, just plug it in. Also another useful tool is the carkit where you can mount your XV6600 in your car.
If you come up with any other problems you are experiencing with this phone, feel free to post them and I'll find you a solution!! I've experienced them/most of them all!!

Hey Nitrotic. I checked out that Handago.com site you mentioned but I couldn't find this unit there. Are there any other places you could suggest to boost the ringer and headset volume? I have a Jabra Bluetooth headset and its extremely quite in the ear piece. How is the volume on the ear piece you purchased?

I am in love with the PDA it has cause me to stop draging along my laptop everywhere to get emails and stuff. But I get very very poor signal as compaired to my other phone. Is there a quick fix for this? Should I get the xv6700?

Pls advise if you've investigated running GPS app on the XV. In particular, trying to learn more about TomTomGo Nav5 for this phone.

I am a Verizon customer and plan to get this phone for web/email use on the road. I would also like to use it as a Nav System in my car. Have you tried this? If so, what GPS SD card do you use? Any suggestions??
Thanks - Chris -
Can you buy an adapter to Wi-Fi with the 6600?
Will it vibrate when a call comes in? -
My 6600 locks up often. This may be a memory problem since i am syncing with my e-mail server and downloading a bunch of e-mails. It also locks up when I transition from a 1X network to a digital network.

Voice command is a must to use the if you drive. Voice command is great for just showing numbers and dialing them on a regular phone if you have limited minutes.
The PDA is great with the keyboard.
I lost an Activesync backup and agree it is no good.
I am still having a problem getting a good holster. I have gone through 2 different holsters from Verizon in 2 months at over $20 a pop. Need something that will protect the PDA even when you use it as this is very delicate when it drops because the sliding part can easily go out of alignment with a hard knock
