"Exactly what I was looking for" on by jar05d

Pros: Bright screen, ergonomics, battery life

Cons: No expandable memory, slow Internet

Summary: The 7100t is ideal if you are looking for a more business oriented phone with PDA technology. It also has a look that distinguishes it from all the other wide silver/black PDAs. The lack of a touchscreen will spare you from a nasty looking screen 24/7 and also translates into an impressive battery life. The sound quality is good, and the speaker phone at full volume is unbelievably loud, which has actually come in handy. The screen is so bright my phone sometimes doubles as a flashlight!

"All calls fade after 5min of talk time until the person on the other end cannot hear you anymore" on by debigartn

Pros: I haven't found anything about this phone I like other than its name

Cons: Droped calls, fade out calls, resetting the phone all the time due to freeze-ups

Summary: I had this phone for less than a month and noticed its major flaws. I can only talk on it for 5 minutes at the most before I hear from the other end, "Hello, are you still there? It sounds like your far away....I cannot hear you anymore". So now any calls I make or calls that come in, I have to tell the person I'm talking to that my phone will start to fade until they cannot hear me....so they have to make it fast or leave a message. It's really annoying when you are trying to make plans with friends and they have to leave messages for you so you know where to meet. My cell phone is my only phone for contact. I do not have a home phone. I do not send text messages because the phone will freeze up and I have to pull the battery out. I have also experienced my phone not responding to power on or off for two days even fully charged. I pulled the battery out and card....nothing other then the hour glass icon spinning on a white screen. It sat on my dresser, and on the second day it decide to work again. Two out of five times, it takes about 30 minutes for me to be able to access my address book...the hour glass just spins. I have not contacted customer service because as soon as they ask the first security question they cannot hear me. I could go on about the flaws but I'm going to read some reviews on other cell phone to replace this one. You do not want to be the owner of this phone unless you received it for free and your a 5 minute talker... or even better... if you have kids that go over their minutes, this phone would be perfect.

"Fantastic phone with little drawbacks..." on by miabhai_freaked

Pros: Great interface with intuitive design and use...

Cons: "all work and no play"

Summary: I'm not a corporate user, however I do have a busy schedule to keep up with, in which regards it's a great phone! Stability like Macs, no crashing what so ever like some Windows Mibile systems.

    "Great Phone" on by marketreview

Pros: easy to use, awesome for text messaging, easy to sink with oulook

    Cons: No camera, more memory

Summary: This phone is great, much lighter than Treo. Easy to use and sink your contacts with Outlook. Super easy to type

I am NOT sure why people instead of reviewing the phone talk about their cell providers.

The phone is awesome, can't beat the price either. You can get it for $50 after a mail in rebate.

"I wish I had something good to say" on by cujo56

Pros: It hasn't given me ear cancer (yet)

    Cons: everything else including T-Mobile

Summary: I admit it. I fell prey to T-Mobiles advertising and what is perhaps a BlackBerry halo. My experience with BlackBerry and T-Mobile has been the worst and I would discourage anyone from following my path. It was often hard for anyone to hear me on the phone due to garbled voice quality and the fact that this phone picks up any amount of background noise available. This makes the phone useless for any kind of voice business application. Email technically works although you can't view attachments.

Since January 2006 I have had T-Mobile replace my BlackBerry 7100 3 times, they also had a service tech play with the cell tower configurations in my area. Nothing has made this better. I was ready to ditch the 7100 after the first one although T-Mobile support requires you get 2 replacements before they will exchange it. Although the word "exchange" must mean something different to them as after my second replacement they were still only offering me a BlackBerry. Oh, they did offer to sell me another phone for $300(yeah right).

I believe T-Mobile should stand behind the products they represent and not pass the buck back to the manufacture.

I will be breaking contract with them as my business is suffering as a result.

Please stay away from anything that is BlackBerry and T-Mobile.

    Updated
I have commented on this phone before and still can say enough about how much you should stay away from T-Mobile. I am commenting here out of frustration of not having any voice with T-Mobile customer support. After going through 3 different phones with them I still can't get one that works. Additionally they want to charge us $400 to break contract ($200 per-phone on a family plan). The 7100 is the worst phone I have every seen and T-Mobile the worst case service provider. Together these two are a disaster.
