"Service Provider sucks" on by Thack

Pros: OEM was will to take product back

Cons: T-Mobile Award Wining Customer Service?

Summary: New 7100T Blackberry known problem of dropping calls and reseting device. Many calls to TMobile 1 & 2 level tech support first two weeks I had the new device. On the third call to level three support @ BlackBerry an honest tech admitted a Known problem with the 7100T. About 17 days into ownership would Take the BlackBerry back good move. But T-Mobile the retailor past their 14 day grace period by three days though many calls to them with problems negated the return. Will send out a refurbished or new phone. But 10 days later still no phone; 7100T on Backorder. spares inventory depleted due to too many defective 7100T's.I would rate the phone a 6 only because it has weak reception. And the serivce provider user to have my praise now I think is the worst @ customer service -5

"A great concept turned unstable." on

Pros: Size and speakerphone are very good.

Cons: Unstable device -- I am a heavy user and have had five hadset replacements in two months. Will not open attachments, even with third-party viewers.

"BlackBerry met my needs!" on by swhitelex

Pros: Easy typing, email rocks, IM rocks, very intuitive to first timers, bright screen, easy to set up on PC to sync,

Cons: not upgradable, not as much apps available as Treo 600/650 or Palm in general

Summary: WOW! I tried both the Palm Treo 600 and the BlackBerry 7100t. I was a previous Palm addict until my hands came across the BlackBerry. The SmartQWERTY keyboard is great! If you ever did the old T9 typing on a phone and got good at it, then the SmartQWERTY interface takes you in a whole new level. The biggest advantage to the keys is that the keys are bigger than the micro buttons on the Treo.

The screen is awesome, big interface and very bright. It is easy to read and bright. I use it as a flashlight.

I recommend this for folks who need connection with email, IM and need to use the phone. I use IMAP for my email and it was very easy to set up. I just needed my email address and password and BlackBerry handled the rest.

"Good Smartphone for professionals" on by Vette.esq

Pros: Push Email, Bluetooth, nice screen, Compact-ish

    Cons: Horrible third party apps

Summary: I am an attorney and faithful blackberry user. The phone is small for a smartphone, easy to use, and has a nice color screen. I have good T Mobile service in Philly, so the phone works well also. The only problem I have is that many of the thrid party apps you can buy...suck. Unlike palmone, who has thousands of apps for the treo, blackberry has maybe 200 apps for this phone. Otherwise, the 7100 T is a good phone.

"buy the 7100T if you love spending hours on the phone with tech support" on by kristinheatonryan

    Pros: size, email, predictive typing

Cons: very buggy, desktop sync software stinks

Summary: I bought the 7100T in October and have been plagued with problems. to drive that point home, I have spent no less than 40 manhours dealing with technical support, and am now on my 5th 7100T device. They keep sending me new ones, saying the previous "new...not refurbished" device had an isolated problem, yet "we've had so few problems with this new model". I smell a rat. Buyer beware, I think I'm stuck with a dud.
