    "Challenger To Treo 650" on

Pros: Not as much limitation on data as you have with 650 memory, the speakerphone is crisp, nice color screen. Bluetooth syncs well with headset, and browser/web access is quick and frankly, I was surprised as the speed. Of course, with Nextel, you get direct c

Cons: You have to get used to the Nextel antenna sticking out, the screen lights well (as do the buttons), but does not stay on more than 2 minutes. You need to use a headset if you make a lot of calls, this phone is larger than the Treo and other phones.Batter

"Avoid Nextel at all cost" on by Cirrus flyer

    Pros: BlackBerry for emails

Cons: Deceptive trade practices by Nextel, marginal Bluetooth performance

Summary: I trialed two 7520 units for my business. I returned them to the Nextel owned store within the 15 day trial period because of marginal reception in my building. The store personel were professional and credited my Visa for the price of the phone. Two weeks latter I got a bill from Nextel for > $700 for the price of the phone. After endless phone trees and holding I was told that the phones can only be used for 30 min. within the trial period. This was not represented in the written contract and was specifically contradicted verbally. BTW, how can one evaluate a phone in 30 min.!!! After five hours of my time, this issue is still not resolved eventhough the Nextel store manager agrees with my claim completely and has told the home office as much. This may end up in the Attorney General's office.
Also the Bluetooth worked poorly with my car sync. and two headsets.

    "BlackBerry sucks!" on by HippyPimp

    Pros: Bluetooth, QWERTY

Cons: no Voice Activated Dialing, Service Price

Summary: Don't buy this phone! Unless you want to shell out big bucks every month. Most Nextel phones allow you to add a data service plan for as little as 9.99 a month to access IM, Text Messaging, Address Book, Web Service, and Multimedia Messaging. The BlackBerry, however, REQUIRES that you purchase a "BlackBerry Email and Web Plan" for at least 39.99. This gives you 3MB of e-mail service, web access, and 200 inbound text messages. That's it! If you want to send SMS or IM you have to pay the 9.99 on top of that. All this in addition to your voice rate plan! Of course they don't tell you all this. In fact, you can purchase a BlackBerry with a service plan that does not include the BlackBerry package online or through any of the 15 Nextel Representatives I talked to who simply didn't know this or flat out discounted it. Then, when corporate sees a BlackBerry without this service, they "correct the error" and add the package for a nice little surprise on your next bill. Plus the Bluetooth doesn't support data, only headsets. And, who makes a phone with bluetooth headset capability without Voice Activated Dialing. I mean, if my phone is in another room, I want to be able to make a call as well as receive it. You won't even know who's calling either, because you can't download ringtones into the techno mess! More errors than any marketed product should be allowed to have by law!

"Excellent PIM & Phone, but battery could be better" on by mikecallery

Pros: Great Organizational Tool, Strong Integration

Cons: I feel that I'm always charging it, so I have the high-cap battery on the way.

Summary: Having owned multiple Palm OS devices and Pocket PC devices, this was a change and was bought because it's the only SmartPhone that Nextel offers. Getting used to it from a Pocket PC was tough, but now that I've grown used to it, I'm very pleased with it. Much better connectivity to Nextel than my i730. Great speakerphone.

The integration to Outlook on my corporate PC is pretty good through Intellisync. I wish it would sync more like Active Sync instead of having to bring up the software each time, but there are pros and cons to everything you purchased.

I have ordered the high-cap battery. As good as it is, if you browse the net, do a few emails, this device will eat up the battery and just make a day on the normal battery. This is one area that needs major improvement and I hope the high-cap battery helps.

Other than that, I'm quite pleased. If you are a power user looking for downloadable software and ringtones, go get a Pocket PC. If you want a good phone and fantastic email integration, this would be the way to go.

I also wish that the webclient would get a major overhaul. Why you have to have one reply to address for multiple accounts is beyond me. They need to set it up where each account can have it's own reply to address. That to me is the weakest point to the push integration and possibly with time, that will improve to.

Overall, this is a good phone with great email and web integration.

"This is the best one out there by far" on by NextelFan

Pros: Speaker phone, two level brightness, bluetooth

Cons: None that I can think of since I switched from Cingular

Summary: The speakerphone is better than any other phone on the market, including Motorola's phones for Nextel. The bluetooth capability is fantastic, and having the walkie talkie feature is absolutely awesome... Much better than what Verizon and Sprint can come up with. This is unmatched. Just ask RIM... between the 7510 and the 7520, they are the hottest selling BlackBerry units they have ever had.
