"A great phone for business" on by kamau212
Pros: Good key board
nice trackball
GPS works well
Awesome add-onsCons: Browsing the web is hard
A tad bit slippery ( get a gel cover)Summary: With the right add-on to this phone you can really maximize the features it. I have a Blackberry bluetooth keyboard and eOffice program. It will run from $100-$230, And I really don't even need to use my laptop anymore. For navigation Get Google map and google apps its free by google and its great stuff. if you really want to get high end get Garmin mobile its great. All in All if you expect this blackberry to be fully equip, you are mistaken.
The reception is alright but its not the phones fault i believe its more of a T-mobiles problem. All the other ratings are rating T-mobile and not the phone itself which is unfair to Black Berry

"VERY cool Features but average reception" on by marco990
Pros: Wifi voice!
Cons: Tiny key and average reception
Summary: I love the edition of WiFi voice which is sort of equivalent to Voice over IP...I use my Cable wireless router and the phone seemlessly switches to this in my home!
The reception to the GPS towers is very average . It must have a tiny antenna. It was dead on a road that my Moto Razr held calls on with 1 and half bars . The Blackberry had NO signal on the road. The key are also not made for a man. YOu have to use your finger nails to 'dial' But it is loaded with features (although it doesn't have a full keyboard). I wish Blackberry would get away from their traditional design and offer something like the sidekick with the slide out full keyboard.....
T-mobiles UMA (Voice over IP to me) or Hotspot at home is really cool! But I am not totally satisfied with the phone. -
"take away wi-fi and you have a sub-par product" on by sctang73
Pros: wifi, more device options from t-mobile
Cons: carrier has poor overall cell coverage
Summary: T-Mobile is a 3rd-rate service provider in NYC due to its poor coverage and glacial data speeds (GPRS). If you can't get a wi-fi signal, this device can't hold a candle to its EDGE based sibling from AT&T, much less the CDMA based models from Sprint or Verizon.
Also, if you happen to have a wi-fi signal you can connect to, watch your battery. The longer you use it on WLAN B/ G networks, the faster you drain your battery. -
"Some people think the blackberry8820 is awesome?!" on by qarfield
Pros: The GREAT thing about it is that it charges very quick! It has a 3 out of 5 stars for its camera, and it can carry a whole lot of memory mass. And my favorite thing, is all of my messages, files, pictures, EVERYTHING, is organized...very well!!!
Cons: Worst thing about this phone, no video recording! An annoying habit of my phone is that, it ALWAYS did whatever it wanted! If I wanted to type any letter, id take forever!! It froze when I'd put in ".com" and it had the WORST signal!!
Summary: Some people think the blackberry is awesome!! Now guess what? That phone SUCKS! You think its quick? Well, heck no! At times, I'd type my email in, & just out of the blue, it FROZE! It would take about 5-10 min. to turn on! A good thing is that it charges the whole battery within, 5-10 min, except, the battery goes out pretty quick. (Thats the only thing that goes by quick!) Although, its not quite a very strong phone. It breaks very, very easily & it comes apart alot!! The keys, as I had mentioned, takes forever to type in a letter on the screen! Most of the time, I cant text because my phone is so darn stubborn!! It feels like all the time I always have to restart the phone!! You still think the phones worth it?? Because, I'm done fighting!
