Cons: Volume of Ringtones VERY LOW. Letters too small on keyboard
Summary: I couldn't wait to get this phone. I purchased it yesterday and after setting it up which was pretty easy, I spent 4 hours trying to get the volume of any of the Ringtones Louder, so that I could hear the phone ring. When you test the Ringtones to see which you want, they are very loud. When you slect one as your Ringtone, it gets very soft. I am VERY DISSAPOINTED that something so basic was missing. If I can't hear the phone ring, then it is no good to me. I went to the Blackberry Forum and found out this is the Glitch in the 8830! Its happening to everyone, not just on my unit.

I don't know about you, but my ringtones are pretty darn loud. Mabbe it's because I'm using a program to edit and cut mp3's to make my own ringtones. Check out Audacity (it's for both Macs and PCs, I use it with my Macbook Pro). Using those tones, I haven't had a problem hearing my phone at all. Just make sure you save them as mp3's and not WAV files-WAVs for some reason don't work too well as a ringtone
