  • "The Bold 9900 4G: An Excellent Communication Tool"
    on by Action-Jackson

Pros The best keyboard ever / still the best messaging platform going / superior call quality / ease of use / smooth operation / keyboard shortcuts, optical trackpad, and touchscreen...getting to where you want to go on this device is fast and efficient.

Cons Only one covenience key now / lack of auto-focus on the 9900's camera has hurt picture quality.

Summary I'm really satisfied with this device. It's a highly effective and efficient task manager. There's everything a business professional needs in this device and really nothing that you don't. This device runs extremely smooth (I'm running OS 7.1) and with its wide array of navigation options that vary in use from that of the physical keyboard shortcuts, the optical trackpad, along with touhscreen convenience; helps to make this phone functionally the fastest and most efficient of devices currently going. When it comes to call quality, messaging, and connectivity (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Mobile Hot-Spot, Wi-Fi Calling, Internet Modem, and 4G) this phone really performs.

The battery: I've not experienced any battery issues whatsoever, but I've also optimized the phone for battery consumption and I make it through a day of heavy phone use, messaging, and moderate internet use with plenty of charge left in the battery...and I mean plenty

Storage: With regards to storage, the 9900 provides plenty of storage for my needs, there's 8GB of built-in internal storage and I'm personally running a 32GB Class 10 Micro-SDHC card...more than enough storage for my needs, but should you need more, the Sandisk 64GB Class 10 Micro-SDXC works like a charm in this phone...that's 72.768GB of storage for you guys that really need it (BTW, the 768mb pertains to separate internal app storage on the device).

I only have two real complaints with this device, 1) I miss not having a second convenience key. 2) RIM made a mistake in optioning out auto-focus from this device's camera (5MP EDOF). The EDOF that is currently utilized only provides for average to decent picture quality, but nothing more. Though video quality is rated at 720 HD, it too is but decent to very decent in quality rating. Now, I'm not a big picture taker, but for those that are...you'll be less than satisfied with this phone's camera.

Overall, this phone is currently the best BlackBerry that has ever been produced, both functionally and in build quality. Indeed, this phone's build quality is actually quite superb. It's clear, that this phone is a tool and not a toy, it's focused towards the business professional that must remain productive and efficent in today's work/market place, it's lean, fast and with power to spare in executing multi-task throughout the day. Bear in mind, This phone isn't for everyone and I would say that it's definitely not ideally suited for the man/woman/kid that gets their kicks by sampling through the plethora of fart-apps or steering roller coasters on their iOS and/or Droid phone, but if executing business is your game, then the bottom line is that this phone rocks it!

  • "Best Business Tool ever"

Pros 2.8 screen, nice keyboard, sync's with my Playbook and I pay no tetheing fees, nice feel and professional looking phone. If you do a lot of emailing or social messasing, this is best phone hands down---Great Business Phone

Cons Pricey device, software may be outdated with new QNX software from Blackberry within next 6 months. NO UMA

Summary Best Smartphone for Businss out there. Not even close ...I have had no call issues or voice quality with my phone.

Pros Amazing fast. I actually thought it wasn't doing the things I was trying to do because it was TOO fast. Hard to believe, but true. The 4G on the tmobile network makes everything you do speedy. The touchscreen is great, you can finally zoom in and out

Cons The battery life, but I read on crackberry.com that it will be fixed with a software update.

Summary I have had no problems with the call quality. There is nothing I don't like about this phone. I got it early and I didn't pay this "high" price that Cnet speaks of. So, if you want the best phone out there, pick this up. If you don't have an Iphone, don't get an Iphone and get this.

  • "Buying Blackbery Bold - The worst decision of my life."
    on by anjalijalan9

Pros there are no Pros for this idiotic phone

Cons Camera stops working every 10 days, the phone gets hanged more than it works, the number of times it is rebooted in a day will soon beat the number of times one blinks his eyelids in a day. the processor is as slow as a tortoise.

Summary Every min i curse myself to buy this horrible phone. the charger got conked twice in six months. ehat makes matters worse is the super annoying service center staff. i have been waiting to hear from them since one month or more regarding my charger issue. No matter how many times u upgrade ur server the phone would not stop "hanging". how i wish i didnt not waste my 32,000 is a phone soooo crappy. Its better to use a cordless phone rather use this idiotic cellphone. My first phone was a nokia 1100, bold 4 makes me miss it soooo much. atleast it didnt require twice a day charging and 100 times rebooting. If i bold 4 was a man, it would win an award for hanging for the longest time possible ever. Everybody out there, whoever planning to buy this phone, please dont waste ur money. This phone is the worst of a kind. you definately deserve better.

  • "very nice phone. easy to use. looks great."
    on by oldguyp

Pros very easy to type with both thumbs, even for an old guy with stiff fingers. slim design great for carrying in pocket. love the combination of smart phone screen and keyboard. easy to navigate around the phone. no problems with battery life.

Cons software seemed to run very slow at first, but doesn't lag anymore since getting some updates. the headphone jack would be better on the top. Expensive!!!

Summary love this phone. switched from and android that i hated to use. read many reviews on this phone and was a bit worried about the claims of a poor battery. Haven't seen that yet. I just turn things on/off as i need them. I like the fact that someone still makes a good phone with a keyboard for those of us that haven't been hooked in the mouth by Apple. people that hate on BlackBerry phones should return the phone for replacement. Seems to me that people are trying to use a blackberry as an iPhone. It's not. This is a good product.
