"Best Blackberry So Far" on by mowdawg
Pros: Versatile, phone works great
Cons: Camera not very good
Summary: I have been using and supporting Blackberries for several years, from Mobitex 957 era to present, and the Curve is the best I have used so far. Forgetting corporate use for now, the Curve has a great flow with Contacts and phone, multiple numbers, can dial within email messages, or via multiple phone numbers per contact.
Browser is acceptable good with ATT EDGE access.
The camera is not great. A bit grainy, plus you need to be rock steady to get a clear shot. Good in a pinch, but Ansel Adams would not use it.
Adding a micro-SD card will make the unit complete for music files. Certainly no iPod, but for all the features it packs, the music player is acceptable for sure.
I am having a hard time thinking of something I do not like. Um, came preloaded with all sorts of ATT crap, but "hiding" icons works great. -
"I have had every new phone on the planet" on by Aaron8888
Pros: I have had 7 phones in the last 15 months....this is the most professional and durable phone i have come across yet. The email is all you could ask for, the TeleNav is perfect
Cons: The email isnt as quick as active sync and the calander doesnt function as good as a windows mobile device
Summary: I have had a lot of phones over the past several months (iphone, tilt, treo, blackberry 8100) and this phone takes the cake. The email is quick and reliable, the GPS with TeleNav is incredibly reliable (i travel a lot for work) and the size is much smaller and convienant than any other smart phone i've used, besides the iphone (which is basically an ipod with a phone). This is where its at!

"Functionality Awesome / Sound Quality Terrible" on by tier2techie
Pros: Extremely easy to use
Cons: SHHHHH - get used to that background sound! Oh, and a sporadic "click, click, click, click"
Summary: Ok...so I just had a lowly Razr before, and anything with a BB's functionality was going to impress me, but the Curve definitely topped my expectations for what a functional phone could be.
That being said, I am RETURNING this thing in a couple of days... Why? Because the primary purpose of a phone is to talk...and my Curve's ATT reception is TERRIBLE.
Problem #1... A constant SHHHHH in the background of ALL of my conversations. My Razr on ATT service didn't do that.
Problem #2... A sporadic 3 second digitalized repeating click sound ("click, click, click, click") that occurs every couple of minutes...
I REALLY want to like this phone, because it's so functional (links into my personal email, work email, has great internet...)... but, give me a break, the sound quality is AWEFUL!!!!
I am regularly in Dallas and Austin. -
