"Phone Good, PDA and keyboard is poor ergonimics"2.5 starson by Macron
Pros: Phone holds cells good, calls clear & loud. Battery life, bright screen
Cons: No PIM application, back lighting is dim at best, letter contrast is very poor and hard to read. Application appearance lack polish and are bland. Ball is eratic to navigate to edit text.
Summary: I have an 8310, Treo 650 & 680. Overall I prefer the large 650.
The curve(grey version)has greyesh keys which are too dull and not clear enought to read in many lighting situations. When the backlighting comes on its not bright enough either. Letters and numbers are very hard to read in a car. The Treo's black letters with white background and bright backlighting is superb. Blackberry does not provide a PIM application to add or sync to. Outlook is not a PIM and I certainly don't want all my outlook mail, contacts being added to the Curve. As said the mail messaging screen and contacts could use some polish as well as the media player. The phone works better than the treo, few dropped calls in comparison. But memory is quite low without any instlled apps ~20-25MB free out of 64MB. Most third party apps require a data connection to work and cost a bomb.
I use my Treo 650 most of the time.
