CNET Editors' Review

For AT&T customers who are constantly on the road or are a little directionally challenged, the RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 and its integrated GPS can help you keep on track.

Review:

The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 for AT&T has a similar design and feature set to the carrier's RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8120. However, instead of Wi-Fi, the Pearl 8110 has integrated GPS, which allows for real-time tracking and turn-by-turn directions with the addition of a location-based service like AT&T Navigator. It's a good option for road warriors or anyone who could use a little help getting from point A to point B. The RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 is available now in either red or titanium and comes at an affordable $99.99 with a two-year contract and ... Expand full review

We tested the quad-band (GSM 850/900/1800/1900; GPRS/EDGE) RIM BlackBerry Pearl 8110 in San Francisco using AT&T service, and call quality was decent. On our end, the audio was loud and clear, though on some calls, voices sounded slightly garbled. We were still able to communicate with our callers and interact with an airline's voice automated system. Meanwhile, our friends said the sound was quite good. Unfortunately, speakerphone quality wasn't the greatest, as there was an echo to the calls. On an bright note, we were able to pair the Pearl 8110 with the Logitech Mobile Traveller Bluetooth headset and the Motorola S9 Active Bluetooth Headphones.

"S**T PHONE!" By cheesegrows22

Pros: Good organizer, good for keeping track of things

Cons: I have gone through 5 phones in the 7 months I have had the phone. So many technical problems. The browser isn't all that great. Doesn't have much in the way of apps. Runs SLOW! When playing music, gets even slower. Track ball is horrible.

Summary: This is a crap phone and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I payed the out of pocket price for it because I had only had my old phone for 7 months and I wanted a smart phone. So it was $250 and $50 "rebate," which I never received, $... Expand full review
