"BB is Back"
on by Alphonse-LXPros Onscreen keyboard is amazing
HDMI connection
Apps, Camera
Look and feel (Feels solid and perfect fit in your hands)Cons Few key apps missing
I would have preferred a larger batterySummary I have been a Blackberry user for the past 4 years or so. Over the years, Android and IOS have grown in stature and left Blackberry far behind. I decided to stay faithful to the brand and I am so happy that I did.
For the last 6 - 7 months, I used a GS3 (company issued phone) in addition to my personal Bold 9900 and on occasion, I found myself picking up the S3 instead of the BB for browsing, social media and maps. The larger screen just made these experiences more pleasant.
After months of waiting for the US release, I picked up my Z10 at the AT&T store and I am absolutely in love with this phone. It is difficult to put into words just how buttery smooth the OS is in comparison to IOS and Android.
The peek feature that I kept hearing about I thought would just be a gimmick. However, it is something I find myself using every time I pick up the phone. The experiences just quite simply "flows". The Hub is also any excellent feature which I am growing to love more and more. Being able to access all my messages in one central location by a simple gesture without having to go in and out of separate applications is a massive time saver and extremely convenient.
Next up, we have the display. The display on the Z10 is nothing short of gorgeous. I have always been impressed with the display produced by the Iphone 5. Ladies and Gentlemen, the display on this phone is just as good if not better than the beautiful iphone 5 retina display
Lastly, we have the keyboard. As I mentioned, I previously used the bold 9900 which is a physical keyboard. I worried about having to use a software keyboard full time considering the fact that I hated the keyboard on the GS3. The keyboard on the Z10 is just plain awesome. The word suggestions are extremely accurate and unlike anything I have seen on any other software keyboard. I believe this keyboard is as good as a software keyboard can get.
The only drawback so far is the app support. There are a few key apps missing, However, I am sure with time they will all grace Blackberry world. In the mean time, the browser is so good that it can be used in place of the few missing apps.
Overall, this is an excellent phone and one where you really have to use it to see its true power and potential.

Blackberry is definitely back. BBZ10 is a true winner. -
"A welcome alternative to the competition."
on by davekijijiPros Gesture based navigation
FAST. Very fast.
Hub is super cool, neat to have everything in one spot.
Integration is flawless with online/cloud services
Keyboard is easily the best I've used (Former S2/Nexus and iPhone user)Cons Some apps aren't feature complete: Facebook can't do certain things competition can, still looking for Netflix, etc.
Summary The big thing I think people need to keep in mind is that this is BlackBerry's starting point. Yes, it's their big catch-up to the competition, but it's a beginning. The first iPhone? It had LOTS of issues. The very early android OS's were horrible! If this is what we get as a starting point, I can't wait to see where this device or other devices that BlackBerry comes out with in the future. Most of the things the reviewer mentioned already are things that can be fixed in software - This means that complaints we can all have likely will be addressed in one way or another. That's the part that makes me excited - I love the overall flow of this so far, the part I wait for is when updates come out. Android and iOS both do this, I can only assume BlackBerry will as well.
For a first-attempt at a brand new OS, this is an incredible starting point. -
"BlackBerry Z10 - A blend of functional new features!"
on by DanBouSevPros Amazed by the blend of the BB HUB and BB FLOW.
Exhangeable Battery with Strong Specs!
Security is a must, now days.
Keyboard is a time saver! so are gestures!
Browsing is amazingly fast! I love the reader feature
BlackBerry Messenger with Video!Cons Learning curve (it took quicker than I thought ... though)
Apps limited for now however 70K available at lunch is a good start
A bit larger than expected.Summary For an enterprise user with less time/desire to play games (than most of my coworkers:) the Z10 is just perfect. The blend of features called HUB and FLOW is what some users like me would say: "its where I spend 90 percent of the time". The blend HUB/FLOW has all my communication tools (corporate/BIS email, BBMessenger, and social media apps (Facebook,Tweeter - for me) in one place and easy to move around without the need to go the grid app screen. At times I forget about the rest of applications I downloaded and sitting on the grid app screen(s).
Corporate users will find the BlackBerry Balance a very useful tool. Switching from work to personal and viceversa helps me to focus/set my mind in one place.
BBM is getting more powerful and refined. BBM video was a feature I was waiting for long long time, BlackBerry made a good decision on releasing BBM video on BlackBerry 10 devices only (it would've been a disaster if BBM video had released with BBOS 7.0 i.e). BlackBerry refined BlackBerry ID for what I can see, great improvement!
I found an improved functionality when using my calendar; I will need to explore more as I believe the new features will help me organize meetings a lot quicker if used with the new feature called BlackBerry "Reminder" or "Remember" (I don't even remember how it's called lol)
The browsing experience is a 1000 yr leap from previous BlackBerry devices; three simple words describe my experience: "Thank you BlackBerry". Here is where I found the "Reader" feature so helpful.
Available apps continue to be the weakest link for BlackBerry however 70K available at launch date isn't bad at all.
Learning curve seems to be average, not a major concern. -
"BB gains back their sparkle with a solid phone."
on by AlawishisPros Nice design.
Solid build quality.
World leader in security continues
The partitioning work/personal capability is very innovative. This is the first phone to have this feature.
Keyboard predictive with flick is new too.Cons Tough hill to climb.
Will have to overcome many prejudiced against RIM.
Delayed release in the US, due to carriers.Summary Will have to get hands on to make a full assessment obviously. Not sure how people could give one star for a capable phone unless it's fundamentally broken, which this obviously is not.
Time will tell but think RIM has a winner here. -
"Blackberry is back!"
on by Carguy_CanadaPros Great high res screen
Unmatched security that will become important to everyone sooner or later
Cool design & accessories
Great OS which I'm sure will get even better
Launched with over 70,000 apps and counting...
Lighting fast browser
Time shift camCons Learning curve, although catch on quick
Delayed US launch
Not as many apps as others
Keyboard model not available yet
Camera average at best in low light but time shift is great featureSummary For someone who needs a tool more than a toy - this is your smartphone and now BB has caught up and surpassed the competitors on many features. The corporate world will embrace the Blackberry Balance as well as unmatched security. More apps will come over next weeks and months. The predictive text typing is awesome and only gets better the more you use it! BBM is best texting app in the world on any device period. White one looks great!
