"Would be great if it worked" on by spywiper

    Pros: Voice Command was cool

Cons: Dropped Wi-Fi and Cell calls, WM6 Sucks

Summary: Phone would not stay connected to Wi-Fi network, even when it was 15 feet from the wireless router on a clear channel. Would not automatically connect when it came in range. Lost the Wi-Fi network password several times, forcing me to go through setup again. Occasionally dropped calls on the cell network at home, where our other phones do not have any problems.

The phone was great looking, but the keys were rounded in the center and slick, so my fingers were constantly slipping off and hitting adjacent keys. The Home, Back and navigation keys were small and too close to other keys. Wading through the WM6 menus and making a selection was difficult. I frequently went off on tangents and had to go Home and start over.

And don't even get me started about Windows Mobile 6. You would think after six tries MS would get it right. But the O/S was often slow and would occasionally freeze. Sometimes it would unfreeze, execute all of the pending keystrokes at once and leave me in an unexepected place. Other times it would stay in la la land, and I would have to shut the phone off to reboot it.

If WM6 won't run correctly on a top of the line phone from a PC maker, you know it sucks.

Listen HP and MS, we need simple, reliable, great sounding phones that work on both Wi-Fi and cell networks. We don't want poorly designed hardware, nor overly complex software that works inconsistently and then crashes. If it doesn't work right, don't ship it! You wasted three days of my life. Good luck convincing me to buy something else from you in the future.

"Basic but functional" on by AvidExp1

    Pros: Size, WiFi, VoIP/SIP

Cons: Small screen, WM6, low volume

Summary: Seems like HP cut a few corners to keep the cost down (like the small low-res screen), but overall it works fine. Windows Mobile 6 is no better than past efforts by MS, and some functions are annoyingly limited to corporate MS Exchange users, but at least it boots quicker. Worst ergonomic fault: I find it awkward to position the earpiece and even at max the volume is too low. Some free stuff you should add: Voipstunt for the built-in VoIP/SIP, Fring for Skype/IM, mail2web for online MS Exchange support.

"Very Good Value" on by micouellet

    Pros: wifi;light;easy to use

    Cons: Small screen;slow usb;

Summary: nice phone to use with outlook data at hand but not convenient for text entry, BT keyboard required; still prefer Palm-os device (unfortunately no Palm smartphone has wifi, which is very convenient when travelling)

    Updated
Take note that VoIP like Skype does not work with this phone, some people reported having Skype working on it but after major tweaking; also about screen size it is 0.2" less than a BB Pearl

"Great form factor, love the voice command, and call quality." on by jax1111

Pros: Great form factor, style and easy to access buttons.

Cons: No slide out qwerty keyboard

Summary: I like the aspect of having a real touch pad for using this device as an actual phone. The sound quality is great and the voice command is very accurate and responsive. Me likey!!
