  • "From iPhone 4 to HTC Evo 4G"
    on by jordanlovesdavid

    Pros Screen Size
    Android 2.2
    HTC Sense Overlay
    Wifi Tethering
    Widgets!
    Removeable Battery
    Unlimited data w/Sprint

    Cons Battery Life

Summary I just switched to the EVO from owning an iPhone 4 on AT&T for 8 months. I must say that I have NO regrets! The ONLY thing where the iPhone is superior would be the battery life, but once I get an extra battery for my EVO, that won't be a problem. I love the customization on this thing and I am saving SO much money compared to AT&T's plan and I get more features! OH! And since I rooted this beast, I can cancel my internet provider since I get FREE Wifi Tethering thanks for Android. I'm in love!

Pros Awesome 8.0 MP rear cam and mini front facing cam
    Kick stand
    Replacement stronger battery available
    HTC
    Style
    Mobile WiFi

Cons Keyboard can get a bit laggy
    Mandatory 4G data pack
Can't make or receive calls and use WiFi together

Summary I've owned the HTC EVO for over a month now. I haven't experienced any major problems/software issues.
Compared with the Droid X from Verizon they're almost identical in appearance and sharing screen sizes.
The WiFi "Hotspot" works just like a regular home modem would. It would show up in your wireless networks, you have to call and have it put on your plan before you can use it. And you have to set up your own name for the WiFi and optional security password in the "Hotspot" menu.
This phone may be bulky to some (especially with the added more powerful battery which will come with two expanded back covers in black and white) but for some, (like me) the bulkiness is a handy touch.
The EVO can be considered business-like along with the iPhone, (the EVO's screen is larger hehee). With an added handy rear kick stand makes this phone presentable on a table and/or used for viewing videos.
I'm a photographer and I use my EVO for my most recent works. It's the best I've seen on a phone so far.
This is the best phone I've had and I don't plan on getting rid of it until it either breaks or something better comes out in the market.

  • "Internal memory problem is an absolute deal breaker"
    on by CJHardbody

    Pros Big Screen
    Kickstand is handy
Ability to switch batteries and swap out memory cards is great
Transferring files from my computer to the device (vice-versa) is snap
I have Sprint service and it is a great phone for phone calls.

Cons The internal memory capacity is paralyzing.
    Battery life is atrocious

Summary I have 120 apps on my phone. A modest amount. Some apps cannot be written to the memory card so it must be store on the internal memory and it fills up very, very fast. Updates require memory space and items will not update if you don't have enough internal memory so you are stuck in this horrible uninstalling/updating circle. I'm constantly deleting my browser cache and maps cache to free up space. It is a massive pain. A few of the manufacturer installed apps are written on the internal ram and cannot be uninstalled. I have at least five apps that I have never used that are sitting there wasting valuable RAM-Estate that I cannot uninstall.

You have been warned. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE.

  • "Kicks my iPhone 4 butt all day long!"
    on by dannyboyjake

Pros SPEED! Blazing fast. Screen size. Andriod operating system.

Cons Better front facing camera interface. All else is amazing.

Summary I bought the EVO for my wife and daughter. I am amzed with it. I had the iPhone 3GS and i then got the iPhone 4. ThiEVO phone is 3 times the phone compared to Apple's best phone. I have complete phone envy for I use my phone constantly for running my business. The Andriod apps seem much better than Apples. The interface for working the overall phone is better as well. But what is vastly superior is the blaxzing fast speed of this phone over iPhone 4. I like the look of thie EVo as well. But I am one of the few that liked the iPhone 3GS look and feel over the my iPhone 4.

  • "In love with the telephone"
    on by XxMeggy09xX

    Pros Does everything and more!

Cons It sometimes has a freezing problem.

Summary This phone is amazing. I bought it back in November of 2010 and I still love it! So many games to play for whenever I'm bored, and many applications. I loved my Blackberry ( at times still miss it ) but this phone is awesome. I used to have an all touch screen phone and I hated the time it took to text, but this guesses your word right on 99% of the time. My phone calls are never dropped, and the internet always works. I rarely turn on the 4G, but the 3G runs perfect. I suggest that you download "Advanced task killer" just so your battery doesn't run out as quickly. The "kick-stand" sometimes fails at working. Also sometimes the phone will freeze up and just stop working all together. I've also had some troubles where it'll just type it's own thing... creepy. But all in all this phone is amazing.
