"Great phone. Still not ready." on by mobilelifenow
Pros: Huge Screen with great quality. Best PDA. Only touch screen phone that I have seen where I can actually type on without correcting every other letter. Built in FM Radio. Fast Processor. Built in GPS. Camera with flash. Amazing flashlight.
Cons: Pretty bad call quality on my phone. This may have been just my phone because no one else has complained. To much static. Very touch sensitive. Would randomly hang up on my calls and call someone else. Sometimes locked up and takes forever to reboot
Summary: Come on tmobile, HTC and Microsoft you are on to something finally. Fix the bugs. This Phone has the potential to blow IPhone and android phones out of the game. But I don't want to pay 500 dollars on a phone that randomly calls people and has a lot of static. Maybe in a few months I will try again. Had to take this one back. Yes the iPhone has a lot more apps. so does android. But this phone has way more potential. I have had the mda for years waiting for a decent phone. The touch Pro 2 almost had me because I like real key boards. But it fell a little short of what I was looking for. Got my daughter a new ipod touch. has fun apps and games. Just not for me. too hard to type on and to proprietary. If you try to use more than one computer to get music or movies from, your out of luck. No flash on camera. Just a toy compared to the potential of this phone. As far as the apps go, i do have to give props to apple for that. But with some apps coming out now, you will be able to run android apps on hd2 soon. Already available for touch pro 2. So you can have Microsoft office, a real pda that's not proprietary, add memory and battery without buying a new phone. And have Microsoft and android apps on one phone. Just fix the software and static noise on calls.
A lot of replies to my review. I just read recently. I'm still with the MDA. Been keeping up with tmobile updates through reviews. Hasn't changed a lot of reviewers mind yet. Look what Sprint did with the EVO. Great phone. Something with software or what tmoile has done with it. Look at the unlocked HD2 reviews. Still some problems with software, but not near as many complaints. Sprint was smart to put android on it. My sister in law has a EVO. She loves it. Looks like the only thing I can hope for is windows 7 update for this one. The samsung vibrant is a nice option. Its screen is amazing but the shell looks cheap and no flash. Saw a demo with cracked shell at tmobile store. A lot lighter than this phone though. Waiting for the android update to come out and see what sprint does with their version of samsung phone. Its supposed to have a keyboard and a flash. Tmobile is slipping a little. I have been with them for 7 or 8 years now. We will see if they step up.

Sorry this is probably too little too late for you but I have been running Android 2.2 on the HTC HD2 for a week or so now and it is just as good as that Evo of your sister in law. You should look into installing it on your phone! It's perfect!

Yes, my phone also has very bad voice quality. I cannot hear anything in little noisy area. Every time I have to switch on speaker to talk. Again Battery life also very bad. I have to charge everyday even if I use it for an hour per day.

I agree 90% with mobilelifenow. The reason I only agree 90% is I believe this version of the HTC shouldn't even be marketed as a phone. I tried to hold out for the software fix but not having a fully operating mobile phone isn't an option for me. For the cost of this so called phone it should not be having this many unresolved issues.

Hello. I wanted to comment to this because i noticed in this and many other reviews that there is a agreement on the glitches of the phones program. I wanted to let everyone know and those who are intrested that those glitches can be resolved. The possibilty to upgrade the HTC hd2 to Windows mobile 7 is now possible with the upgrade the glitches are pretty much gone. I love the phone now. So i highly suggest everyone try it. Thanks

I Agree with you, it have to be your phone, becauce my sounds great and I haven't one of your problems yet, suggestion: send it back you have warranty

I read in a businessWeek review that Windows phone 7 OS will not work on the HD2, thus the amount of applications available for the HD2 will be no where near the amount available for the iPHone or Nexus...is that true? Haven't read that else where

I love using this phone with a bluetooth headset. You can take notes/view maps/search the internet/start new programs/switch between programs etc. during a phone call plus avoid randomly calling people. Besides that, I totally agree with you about the potentials of it.

Hi i was really excited whebn i saw youre review, not just because of what you said about the hd2 but also because i have an mda and i have been waiting for a good phone as well.recently i dropped my mda for the millionth time and while ussually its fine after i drop it this time the speakers are going out during calls. So i am debating on whether i should try out this hd2 which looks good and the reviews seem nice,i found that you gonna have to pay at least 30 bucks more if you want to use the extra apps after a while.such as the turn by turn navigation, mobi tv,barnes&noble ect. then i saw the htc touch pro 2 and it looks exactly like our phone.i like the mda and am confortable with all it does.so the debate is should i get one of these 2 newer phones, wait for the next htc hd3 or other phone later this yr or should i call the insurance and get a reburbished one or possibly a wing!(which i heard isnt good at all)you are the perfect person to ask because you were in my shoes with the mda

Don't let me scare you too bad. After having it for a week. I still want the phone. I have read other reviews that commented on the random calls and touch sensitive. Only a couple that complained about a little static. Mine had a lot. I think they will come out with something to fix the random calls. Something wrong with that. It is suppose to lock the screen when you put it to your face from what I read. It also called people when I had it in my pocket listening to the Fm radio. People asked me if I wanted them to listen to a song. I think their are a few lemons out there. I plan on waiting a couple of months and trying again. They don't have 3g in my market yet. Kind of takes away some of the benefits. I probably would have switched phones if they had 3g here. But hopefully they will bring it here soon, so I can try it again. It cant hurt to try for a couple of weeks to see if you like it. Let me know if you get the static too. Best PDA made.

I was going to buy this phone today, but your comments have scared me off. I need my phone for calling a lot and can't deal with bad call quality or random hang ups, etc. Do you think it was just your particular phone and perhaps it is a lemon? I really want the HD2, but am reluctant to get it after your comments. How long do you think it might be before HTC/T-Mobile/Windows have worked out the bugs? I have a T-Mobile My Touch right now and while it's okay, the HD2 would be better. What do you think?
