"Finally a amart phone that can do everything you want." on by Primus_Asterix
Pros: big screen, multitouch, CPU power, WinMo functionality, design
Cons: WiMo 6.5 UI
Summary: It is not iPhone killer, because only Apple can do a product like that, but it's much better.
After finishing all the configurations and costumizations, i can say that only time i had to go into windows settings, was when i wanted to set my email. Everything else can be done by very intuitive Sense UI.
Let me explain:
iPhone is consumer product : HTC HD2 is an enterprice product
iPhone comes with iTunes : HTC HD2 comes with Office and Exchange
iPhone is iPod with phone : HTC HD2 is PocketPC with phone
iPhone has Apple badge on back : HTC HD2 doesn't
If you want an iPod with phone, you are iStore and iTunes user, then iPhone is exactly what you need.
If you want enterprice software on your phone or just watch Divx movies that you downloaded from bittorrent - go after HTC HD2.
Only think i don't like on this phone is Windows Mobile 6.5 that you find once you go into settings and this is only reason i am giving this phone 9/10.
But there is a good news: MS is developing WinMo 7 and this is first phone that will support it. Not only that - as soon as WinMo 7 is launche, HTC will release WinMo 7 update for this phone.
Updated on Jan 26, 2010
There are one minor things i don't like - i have to click 3 times to get to task manager, so i can close all applications.
Because phone has a big memory and fast CPU, i didn't really see any slowdown after i had 10 applications running, but having facebook, opera, skype,.... running in background makes me worry about by phone bill.
I would really like to see a more easy way to close programs. -
"The PDA phone that truly replaces the stand alone PDA" on by worn-the-t-shirt
Pros: Looks great
Properly syncs with a PC running MS office.
Create and edit MS word docs and Excel Spreadsheets.
Excellent media player
It will run many of the 1000s windows mobile applications .
THE replacement for the Ipaq 4700hxCons: The micro USB connector - why not the mini?
the lack of a stylus for the more intricate stuff
no transcriber handwriting recognition
Changing settings, and finding applications and enabling and disabling features is a bit cumbersome.Summary: This is the device that I have been waiting for years to replace my Ipaq Hx4700.
The screen size is large enough to be a realistic mobile office and media viewer.
It has ALL the features you can think of and several more besides.
It is stunningly good looking and feels great, and it is a very capable tool. All of it's features work properly. It is not lacking in the way many of the other comparable devices do. Yes, it can be a bit of a long winded process to get the best out of the device, the operating system and menu screens could be more intuitive, particularly the options and settings screens, but it is all in there and although it can be hard to find at first, you get used to it pretty quickly.
My own experiences of IT hardware ireviews s not so much finding out what it will do but more about what it won't do. So this is the list I've found, or at least not yet found the setting for:
It won't lie flat on it's back on a table top. The sharp edges of the camera lens protrudes and it wobbles and could scratch a polished surface.
Most applications wont "close" and continue to run and hog memory unless you force them to close in the task manager.
It does not have an IR port
It does not have a front facing camera for video calling.
It seems not possible to reduce the screen touch sensitivity It can be a bit 'hair trigger'.
Pinch to zoom seems only works with applications specifically written for that feature. -
"This is the best WinMo phone EVER." on by themrpark
Pros: Gigantic screen. Lightening fast processor. Multi-Touch. Loaded with features. Easy to use. Smart device knows where/when/who you are. GPS navigation turn by turn built in. Very sleek design. Can be updated to beta builds of WinMo 6.5.1 and above.
Cons: Car pack comes separately. Needs to be updated for future WinMo releases. How I look down at ignore my other phones. How no matter what I say to an iphone owner, they HAVE to actually play with my phone for half hour to admit HD2 is better.
Summary: Absolutely amazing device running Windows Mobile 6.5
The Windows Marketplace that recently opened up makes this device all that an iPhone is and much more.
I love that the device is packed full of stuff that I cannot call "bloat-ware". They are all absolutely useful and intuitively designed into the HTC Sense.
If you can afford to buy this phone. Do it. It's very expensive to my wallet. But this is the best phone I've ever had. I've had the iPhone 3GS also.
Battery life is much better than any of the previous HTC phones. I cannot say compared to the new Rhodium or the Topaz. But this baby gives me great battery life as long as I'm not watching 720p movies for 4 hours.
The processor? It's mindblowing. I want to bench test this baby but I don't know how.
Like I said, nothing I say here will convince you that this phone is the best until you try it. -

"Stay away from this bad product.. Watch out > read Cons" on by ahmpedro
Pros: Nice, wide and clear screen
Cons: bad response and slow processing especially when using videos or music, no video calling, worst applications and incompatibility of basic application (e.g Skype), Flash light did not work after 2 months of use, very small internal memory and always report
Summary: When you buy a famous brand, you pay a little bit more extra money. However, you pay once in life and enjoy the luxury. However, when you pay slightly less such a bad phone, you regret it forever and never get satiated. Stay away from this Taiwanese product
