"Good phone but has a serious flaw."
on by BillTheWelderPros Good graphics and storage off the shelf, touch screen is very responsive and resists scratches easily. Body is well constructed and durable as well as comfortable in the hand.
Cons Original phone had reception and call issues and froze. The body is slippery and can easily fall from your hands. Software issue with sound setting when going from silent to normal. Battery life is very short and slider is not easy to open.
Summary Audio error code " please (abjust) sound from your accessory " comes up after taking phone out of standby and then changing the sound profile to normal from silent. The only way to get the audio back is to restart the phone and verizon tech support suggested a soft reboot by removing the battery with the phone on then reinstalling after 5 seconds.
While this is a global android smart phone and its an HTC phone its distribution is sparse and information on the phone is very limited across the web. Verizon initially was going to offer it through its stores then changed directions and sent it out to its resellers and as such it is a reseller warrantied item and you have a better chance of finding merge specific accessories at the reseller while official verizon stores only carry generic items for it. Another concern is with myverizon support does not show the merge on its list of supported phones and very few tech support personnel have had any experience with the phone. Bottom line is that while its a decent phone HTC dropped the ball to soon on the finishing touches with phone and left it with several software issues and structure issues while verizon dropped the ball and instead of stopping the roll out of the phone instead passed the buck onto its resellers to deal with customer complaints. -
"I like the phone.. but there may be issues."
on by fehutchingsPros Has a slide out keyboard... hate touch screen... good visibility... have figured out how to delete all those stupid "APPS"... It's a phone.. I text and call... Internet on a 3" screen? I don't think so... Have 21" monitor for that. But it does what
Cons Have had the phone freeze up. Got an ANDROID process error message. And, at some previous time, my wall paper had changed by itself. When it froze - NO CALL FUNCTION AT ALL - I turned it off; waited a couple of minutes, and turned it back on. After my
Summary Would recommend the phone to anyone who likes solid metal construction and a good screen display. I wanted a phone with text capability and a solid feel. This is the phone. May be some issues with the Android Op Sys. Would feel more confident if it ran some form of embedded LINUX. As complex as this phone could be, a PRINTED manual would be a plus..

1. phone did freeze - restarting fixed issue - can't say for how long.
2. Android Os needs some form of email client allowing filtering undesired messages.
3. Phone needs a PRINTED MANUAL... not the 298 pg file on the memory card.
4. Way too many APPS on menu... Can get those off the web if you want them.
5. WI-FI turned ON will EAT the battery and phone gets hot to the touch. Turn it off and it runs a whole lot longer before needing to be charged up again. -
"NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS"
on by Janie2487Pros DURABILTY AND SIZE ARE GREAT
Cons CANNOT FIND CASES FOR THE PHONE. IT FREEZES ALL THE TIME. I EVENTUALLY HAD TO HAVE IT COMPLETELY RESET TO FACTORY SPECS BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT EVEN LOAD THE HOME SCREENS. I COULD NOT USE MY PHONE AT ALL.
Summary I ABSOLUTELY HATE THIS PHONE. IT HAS GIVEN ME NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND OF COURSE THEY STARTED RIGHT AFTER I COULD NOT JUST EXCHANGE THE PHONE SO NOW I AM STUCK WITH IT UNTIL TIME FOR AN UPGRADE. IT HAS COMPLETELY TURNED ME AWAY FROM ANDROIDS. I REFUSE TO BUY HTC PRODUCTS OR ANDROIDS AGAIN.

"Fast. Big Screen."
on by nevasmithPros It's fast compared to what I have been putting up with... only 3g here where I live & I had a 4g but that was useless if your not in a Area that doesn't have 4g. It's a little heavy but that is because I chose a Keyboard.
Cons The Text part of the phone. Not use to the words coming up to help me pick a word. So if I am not paying attention or in a hurry it puts STUPID words in that make my sentence make no sence. I need to find out how to make that go away.
Summary Got this phone for only $99 thru US Celluar. It is some what different than the Tmobile My TouchQ I had. So it is taking me awhile to get use to the difference but so FAR I like it. So having a phone company that works now after months of flustration sure makes a huge difference to know if it's a GOOD PHONE ro NOT!
