"A damn good phone, sadly overshadowed by the new One..."4.0 starson by Hjortron
Pros: Beautiful display (720p is MORE THAN fine)
64GB storage as standard
Great Music Player app
Great in-hand feel (doesn't need a case, as the body of the phone feels like a case already, and is very rugged)
Sense 4+ is great
Cons: Battery life not great
GPS not great
Phone overheats occasionally
Speaker not loud enough
Summary: The HTC One X+ is an AWESOME phone, and I love it. Yes, it has its bad points, but doesn't everything? This phone never got much recognition. It was kind of conceived as a late-2012 reboot of the original One X, tweaked to better compete with the Samsung Galaxy S III. It is now overshadowed bythe new One, which is ccertainly a great phone as well, but as an owner of BOTH, I must confess that there are still things about the One X+ that I prefer over the One:
1) Build quality & materials: While the new One is beautiful, and is made of top quality materials, I must confess that in many ways, I actually prefer the in-hand feel of the One X+. It's got softer edges, and is easier on the hand. It also is a lot more rugged, and doesn't feel as fragile, or as susceptible to damage as the new One. I don't feel like I have to have a case on the One X+, as its body feels like a case already, is less susceptible to scratches, and (because it's made of polycarbonate), won't dent.
2) Sense 4+: Dare I say, I think I actually prefer Sense 4+ to Sense 5! While I certainly appreciate the evolution & modernization of the design elements, many things, to me, are preferable in Sense 4+: The keyboard, the widgets, the customization ability, the absence of BlinkFeed (BlinkFeed isn't BAD, but it should be optional), the task manager...
3) Standard 3 capacative buttons instead of 2 (missing Multitasking button) on the new One: I can't imagine why they would get rid of that.
So, overall, the One X+ is still a DAMN good phone. And you can probably get it for a song now that everyone's attention is so squarely focused on the new One. Don't overlook this gem!
