"Great phone, great price" on by avboiler11

Pros: Slim profile, light weight, sharp screen, easy functionality, good battery life thus far, works as well as a phone as it does a PDA (which can be rare in a "smartphone")

Cons: Would prefer an aluminum case as the plastic feels cheap and vulnerable to drops, cramped keyboard and small keys lead to typing errors, wish the upper-case key was located where the function key is placed

Summary: I got this phone because my XV6800 phone speaker went bad, and I couldn't wait for a warranty replacement phone. As a previous Motorola Q user I liked the look and size of the Ozone (especially to the brick that was the 6800), and the $50 price after rebate was very friendly. I purchased the phone without so much as picking it up in the store.

I've had the phone three days now, and thus far I'm very impressed. I much prefer its functionality of Widows Mobile to the XV6800 and don't really miss the 6800's touchscreen. The call quality is very good, and I've had no issues with call clarity or volume. It is great for emailing (my primary need) but the keyboard is cramped with small keys, so fat-fingering the wrong thing is easy to do; emailing and texting was the 6800's strongest suit.

The wifi of this phone works very well and connects to networks quite easily, but I've also had good luck and fast speeds with the regular data connection. Additionally, even with the phone receiving 100+ emails and a bit of web browsing via both data connection & wifi the battery was still showing 2 bars after an 18 hour day...which blows away my experiences with both the Q and the 6800.

Its still early, but so far I've been very pleased with this phone. The Ozone offers a lot of utility for a bottom-dollar price...but I hope the plastic case proves more durable than I'm afraid it may be.

Thanks for mentioning battery life. I have the HTC Incredible on trial right now, but it's a bit much for me and battery life is the worst. It's an awesome product, but I want something with a physical keyboard and that can last all day without dying after a little browsing, some texting and two ten-minute phone calls. Thanks again for sharing what I needed to know.
