    "Abysmal Phone"

    by AAAndy555 on November 8, 2008

Pros: The screen is pretty, but it's rather unresponsive. It's weird, almost like there's lag or something to it.
I like the multimedia features at least.

    Cons: Where to begin ...

Summary: The CNET review has it right ... this thing is sluuuuuuuuuuuugish ... and definitely suffers from performance issues. The battery life on this thing is pretty poo.

The reviewer is correct. This phone is extremely sluggish, even if you do start from the first tab or the tab that you are already on. I'm on my 3rd phone now because I've had issues with the keyboard response, or lack there of. Now that my 3rd one has started having problems, I've decided to give up on the Touch Pro and go back to the Blackberry. I upgraded to Blackberry Tour, and despite the fact that the screen is smaller and it's not a touch screen, I'm just glad to have a smartphone that is responsive and has a speakerphone that actually works.

This was my first phone with the TouchFlo 3D and at first it seemed inconsistent like ti had mind of its own. However, after using it a week, I realized as many users have said that you have to start with the highlighted program, push hard, then while still pushing slide to the left or right. However, this hard if I have to use it while driving so I usually push the home button, then just slide from the home button on the left to the right. If I am off by one or two entries, I can then just push the entry I want. I can do this very easily while still focusing my attenton on the road. I don't use this often, but sometimes to check traffic with Microsoft Live present to my location or to call spouse to see who is closer and willl get the kids.

This review is correct. The unit is incredibly sluggish, and not just when sliding your finger over it. It is sluggish in opening programs, it is sluggish in accepting text, and is even sluggish when you simply try to navigate from one program to another (i.e. go from the phone back to the main screen). Very disappointing.

Everyone I see who claims the phone is sluggish, isn't using it right. Sorry, but them are the facts. When sliding your finger across the TF3D, its best to start with the current tab and then go either left or right. If you just try to flip across, it sometimes thinks you are trying to interact with whats open in the tab currently up. This makes it seem "sluggish" as you keep swiping not realizing you are just swiping in the tab and not across the interface.
