"The Windows phone that converted me to Android"
0.5 starson by roadkilldinnerPros: The power button works.
Cons: Touch screen fails continually. I was on Touch Pro 2 number 4 when T-Mobile offered me the G2 in its place.
If there is an operating system for phones slower than Windows Mobile 6, I'll eat my hat.
Functions work when they want to, or simply don't.
HSummary: The Touch Pro 2 was the first and last time that I buy a phone without doing research, much less over the phone with a T-Mobile rep. I was told that it was an Android phone (which it certainly wasn't - it came with Windows Mobile 5, "upgradeable" to Mobile 6) and a host of problems to boot. The phone is incredibly slow, even by '09 standards; just scrolling through menus is an agonizing grind of start and stop, and often freeze. I will not miss this phone, ever, and it will continue to serve as a reminder to look at friends' phones first, compare online second, and only then make an informed phone purchase.
Having read through the negative reviews, whose experiences coincided completely with mine, leaves me wondering about the 25 "5 star" reviews. I realize that not everyone is a power user, or needs every application, but this phone failed at so many different things (including being a phone in the first place), that I have to wonder if the negative reviewers and positive reviewers are even talking about the same phone.
