"Please buy yourself an iPhone instead...."
Pros: TouchFlo, multiple apps for Windows Mobile 6.0, EV-DO, Windows Live!
Cons: Gotta get used to new gamepad, um, touch-style keyboard :)
Summary: Please, go buy an iPhone instead!! Cause I don't wanna see anyone else with the same BADASS Touch phone I just got! Yeeeaah!
I read reviews and specs of every top PDA/Smartphone offered before deciding on the Sprint Touch. I upgraded from almost 2 years of having a Pocket PC 6700 (Sprint), and I almost decided to leave PDA's entirely because they were too confusing to deal with, figure out which model has what you need, and if they are even worth the price! At $249 after rebates, it is a steal!
I almost went with a Palm Centro (to keep things cheap, yet entertaining and productive), Sprint Mogul, or even an iPhone. But I found out about the Sprint Touch, and upon reading the specs, I saw that it had a whopping 128mb RAM!! 256mb ROM (just for installing programs, basically)!! And a Duo-core 400mhz processor!! For a PDA/Smartphone, it beats just about everything else out there. The iPhone got NOTHING on the Touch in terms of power. No more "not enough memory" problems here
and the new processor just rips right through the applications. I honestly really now for real feel like I am on a type of "mini PC" and do not need to bring my laptop anywhere. And in a phone that is, what?, half the size of my old PPC 6700?? Fits in my pockets, Amazing!!
The phone is packed with multimedia from Sprint, but I honestly do not care for watching TV on my phone or downloading mainstream music. But I love that even if Windows Media mobile does not play something for me well, I can just download or purchase another application that will!
I am not locked into a full product with little to no options to personalize its programs/applications, like the iPhone.
I've had this for almost a week, and every day I am getting better at using the 20-key touch keyboard. This has been the only thing keeping the phone from perfection. It's as if I just bought a Nintendo GameBoy for the first time, and I am slowly but surely getting better at the controls/pad buttons with full desire to master it.
Just took many pics at an event today with the camera, and they look fantastic!! Battery life is greeat!! At least what it's spec'd at (4hr talk time).
Windows Mobile 6.0 lets you access Office documents, so it's like your office or school work can go with you. The interface (menus, buttons, icons, options, etc.) is a whole generation better than WM 5.0, making me feel closer to having a full laptop in this tiny thing. Windows Live is new for me, and it's pretty good. Got me through some bad afternoon traffic today and helped my crew get to an event on time. It even helped knowing what the weather was gonna be like right when I turned the phone on in the morning!
I will say, if you're not a techy Windows/PC user, you will not appreciate Windows Mobile 6.0 If you are a MicroSoft hater, you already carry your prejudice and will likely not like anything with WinMo in it.
Final thought.... today was my first weekend day with the Sprint Touch, and I must have used every major feature in it, leaving me a grin on my face each time I took it out of my pocket. I feel like I have a new partner in crime.

I hardly ever write comments, but I like this phone so much I felt it deserved praise. I had the Samsung SPH-I600 for over four years because I never found a phone that truly compelled me to upgrade. The wait is over. This phone does everything and more. I just upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.1 last night for free, and now I also have a fully function GPS system. Way to go HTC.
