HTC Trophy user reviews (Verizon Wireless)

Pros Fast, Netflix, Xbox live, quick interface, smaller than the other phones that are coming out, the price

Cons There is none I can think of at the moment will update if I find any.

Summary I love my Trophy it is quick and has everything I need. It is smaller than most of the brick sized Android phones that are out and I love the windows interface and programs that come with the phone (I can't wait for Mango!) I know it doesn't have a front facing camera, but who is really going to use it I know too many people who have the iphone and non of them use the front facing camera it is pretty much useless to me. Also they say the camera doesn't take "great" photos.....ummm get a real camera if you want great photos.....Oh and the 4G......half of us don't even have 4G LTE in our area and wont be getting it for some time so that is useless....and it not having dual core most software used today don't need dual core yet and I am just fine with the speeds it has now( anything is better than my HTC ERIS) The call quality is great also and you can't beat the price for what you are getting. It's 150 with a $50 rebate so it is only $100 and with Mango coming out it will definitely be worth it.

Pros It's fast and slick. Office, the (terminal) Zune, Xbox Live. integration with Facebook. Wireless Sync. The growing number of Apps! Thank Developers!

Cons The Trophy is at the very bottom of WP7 phone in regards to power and processors. 16 GB only, no 32 GB and no expansion slot. Cloud music sync would solve the storage issue (maybe use SkyDrive?). No DLNA support. Battery life is fair.

Summary HIGHLY RECOMMENDED if you can wait for the Mango update and if you don't mind getting the extended battery which nobody has made a case for it yet. Microsoft REALLY need to do more commercials on TV for this phone. Every other commercial should be WP7.

Pros Easy to use interface.
Not cluttered with Verizon crapware.
Excellent email support (especially with Exchange Server)
Game hub is chock full of enterainment.
Small size for a smart phone, rubberized case.
Good replacement for music player.

Cons Camera doesn't do well in low light conditions.
Phone gets warm performing some tasks.

Summary This is without a doubt the best mobile phone Microsoft has produced. So different that Microsoft rebranded it Windows Phone (to differentiate from Windows Mobile).

If you haven't used one for yourself you should. Pictures of the user interface don't do it justice. I know when I first saw pictures ofthe simple tile based screens I thought "What the ...". But using those screens is so easy. After a hour or two orienting to the new OS I never think about how to navigate.

I absolutely love the email programs. I have multiple email account that I need to monitor for work. Setting up the accounts was simple. Surprisingly, the phone automatically imported all my contacts from each account. Then it merges the contacts together in your People hub. So if I have Alex Martinex listed in two different accounts I only see him once in the people list. It does a smart job of integrating the information, more details that I can put in this review.
Dealing with mail is easy to. The live tile on the start screen shows me the number of new emails since I last checked. I can quickly glance at the tiles to see my email, text messages and voice mails.

As far as the hardware, I like the rubberized outside of the phone. Feels safe holding the phone, not afraid that I might drop the device. The camera software is very handy. I can take a picture even in the phone is locked. I really like that. The camera itself is very basic though. And it does poorly in some low light scenarios. I tried to take pictures of a powerpoint screen during a meeting last week. Very hard to read the text from the screens.

The phone works well on the Verizon network. Have had it drop a call for not find a signal since I activated the device.

Also, don't believe Verizon when they say you need a corporate data plan for using exchange servers (an extra $15.00 per month). As long as Verizon is not hosting your exchange server you can use the individual plan. Seems that some of the Verizon reps don't understand this point.

I meant to say that I haven't had any drop calls or lack of signal on the Verizon network. That's not what I typed however. (not the best typer in web interfaces).

Cons No front facing camera

Summary The phone is light yet feels pretty sturdy. The flash performs better than expected on the camera but is otherwise fairly standard. Probably the best part about the camer is the integrated HTC editing software. Beyond hardware the real reason I love the phone is the OS. When i first saw it I thought it looked a little bit funky but it is by far the most intuitive smartphone OS on the market. Within a second of glancing at it everyone who has given it a try understands how to use it. The big advantage of this is it makes operating it increadibly quick and the phone itself is very fast and smooth when switching between aps ect.

Having office on the go is very nice and comes with some free cloud storage so anything I am working on at home I can access from my phone or even another computer. I think this is probably the best kept secret about the phone and has already come in very handy.

I am not a big gamer so the xbox integration hasn't been very significant to me but I hear that is a nice feature for people who are. I will say i was very suprised at the number of apps available it was significantly higher than i was expecting and I haven't not been able to find any apps I used alot from my iphone for this phone.

My only two complaint are that there is no front facing camera and the inability to make custom ringtones. Overall I would highly recommend this phone. A lot of people seem to not know what it is at first but everyone who has tried it out has been very impressed.
