"Good phone, Fantastic OS"3.5 starson by Hamish-the-Yeti
Pros: Windows Mango OS(which is amazing), Decent looking light weight device, 16gb storage.
Cons: My only real complaints are not about the OS, but about the device. It is lacking mobile hot spot, front facing camera, expandable memory, it's a little small for me- especially when compared to the Focus S or the Titan.
Summary: I could go on and on about how amazing the OS is, but I won't. I will just say that it is by far the most intuitive mobile OS on the market and you owe it to yourself to check it out on any device with any carrier. I am a fan of Android and Windows. I think that they both have awesome OS's, and each are good at different things. For the everyday user and business user I would suggest WP7, it will do everything you want it to do and more. Not only that it is the easiest and most intuitive phone you will have ever used, and it has a very aesthetically pleasing UI/OS. If you don't fall into those categories you know who you are, and why you might be happier with Android. You are the only one I have ever seen who has had this issue with any WP7 device on any carrier. I applaud you for trying to fix the issue yourself. As for Verizon tech support it is really hit or miss. I was tier 3 for Verizon for a while, so I am familiar with that aspect. To be honest I would walk in to a Verizon store and demand a new device, it might be an update err that could be resolved with a simple hard reset, or it could be a defective device which happens with any manufacturer or device. This situation is extremely rare, and to base your opinion of the device on it is unfair. It would be nice to have an update review, or at least to find out if Verizon resolved this for you.
As for the device, I mentioned the cons. I would only be concerned about the lacking features if they are things that are really important to you. I rarely use Hot spot (only in my car, safely parked). I don't know how often I would use Tango or Skype(when it comes out) so the forward facing camera is not that big of a deal. For those of you who are not familiar with Tango and Skype they are like Apple's Face Time only better as they work over all platforms. And finally non-expandable memory. I say non-expandable, but that only applies to those who have an issue "fixing" their phone, my 32gb works well ;). I think for most users 16gb is going to be plenty so it's really a non-issue. The size is really just a personal preference, so that will be different for everyone.
I think over all the Trophy is a fantastic entry level Windows phone, and would be great for most users.
