"Super Smartphone/5x more poweful than an Iphone!! 2 notches up from the AT&T Tilt replica!!"

    by William.Jones19703 on November 25, 2007

Pros: -Wi-fi -Bluetooth -3 Mp Camera -Solid feel -Usable and inutiutive out of the box -Expandable with Micro SD cards 4 gig and above -Windows mobile 6 pro with Outlook compatibility - Word, P.Point Excel

Cons: -Recommend getting Li- Polymer Battery otherwise; low battery life with all radios (Bluetooth, Edge and/or Wi-Fi running.) -software is best loaded on the microSd to maintain the system performance.

Summary: I own the Tytn II and the first thing I wanted to do is compare it to many devices. Everyone wants to know they made the best choice for their money. First of all The Tytn II is NOT the AT&T Tilt!!!AT&T Tilt is loaded with "bloatware" that drastically slows performance and does NOT have these Tytn II features:
    -Unlocked from the factory
    -2 year manufacturer's warranty
    -Front camera for video conferencing
    -TouchFlo Interface (similar to iphone)
    -Business card scanner
    -Remote Desktop
    -TomTom Navigator 6 Taster Version
The Tytn II / Kaiser is the latest and greatest Technology going into 2008!The first device I have seen that is intergrated and all parts work seamlessly. It is user friendly but has taken me over 2 weeks to learn different features of the phone. It acts as a PDA seamlessly with no crashes. With all the Information, email and time management software you expect. The connectivity is what will really shock and please.
With certain carriers the Wi-fi and Edge seem equally as fast as you'd expect wi-fi to be from say a laptop. Connectivity features and the built in GPS will really suprise you.
The GPS has very fast aquisiton. faster than some stand alone gps devices. map programs like google maps, Tom Tom 6(which comes with it) are really fast and clear. There are other 3rd party programs that will test and show you the different ways to track with the GPS.
Phone Quality from people I have asked while talking too claim that,The voice sounds clearer, deeper with absolutely no noise. Thats from using the device itself without Bluetooth.
The phone has many options and combinations of call packages. You can use third part VOIP programs like skype or vonage with its Wi-fi capability and have a wireless data plan on a regular carrier also. or just use Wi-fi with your phone with acess to millions of free locations. You would still have internet access if you had just a Pay-As-You go service. Alot of possible combinations.
The phone acts as an upgradable Mp3 player. As big a micro Sd card you get is as many songs as you can hold!! That and some more on the built in memory. The most awesome feature for the music playback is the player that comes with the Tytn II allows you to make ringtones with your mp3s and edit the section you want as the ringtone as you listen to it!!!!! Its really cool have to try it. No more buying ringtones!!!
Internet is beautiful bit you need a third party browser like Opera or Minimo to enjoy the speed and clarity of the web. This isnt a watered down internet it is THE internet. You can even get SSL v.3 security. There is a ton of software and a ton of software specifically for this device.
Touchflo is the software similar to the iphone that lets you scroll and explore with your finger. I have big, meaty finger and was always worried that finger navigation wouldnt work. It works on the Tytn II. When I hit the area where the "X" is, to close a program, it seems to know thats my intent. I was trully shocked that scrolling up/dpwm responded the same user friendly way!
Havent tried the camera yet but photos that are uploaded look excellent when viewed and it great for sharing with family.
Overall this is a great product just be patient theres alot to learn and alot to customize. You really need to make the investment for the additional Lithium - Polymer batteries that last up to 2 1/2 times longer. The battery that it comes with has to be charged and discharged 4-6 times before a decent and consistant charge is held. You will have to customize and adapt the device to you. It was designed to be yours!! I originally bought it for my trip to Europe. One device to be my GPS/Map, Listen to music (instead of bringing an MP3 player), Play games (instead of bringing a portable game console), Check out the internet and my email(without an I-cafe or laptop) and a Camera (without carrying another device thats just a camera)!!!
