"Great phone for work and play. Excellent form factor." on by sammyforum
Pros: All-in-one device that does ALMOST everything I need.
Cons: A little dated (2 years old), slow processor, no SDIO.
Summary: For work, I store all my contact info., retrieve email, do basic web surfing. For play, I can download many free Palm apps, including Golf Score tracker to keep track of my rounds.
I just want to address some of negative reviews:
Battery life = just keep a spare battery and put on the charger when you sleep.
Constant resets = Backup Buddy is a small price to pay to resolve the problem of losing data while on the road.
This phone has such an excellent form factor, I just wish Kyocera would bring it up to date, e.g. SDIO (for GPS or WiFi cards), faster processor, better keypad, etc.
Still, even the new smartphones (including the Treo 600) cannot replace my Kyo. -
"Still a good value, a year later!" on by Pak H
Pros: Bright screen, voice dial, MP3 player, Easy synch with Outlook, Convenient size, Speaker phone
Cons: Short battery life, Buttons are not the best design, Requires proprietary stereo headphones with non-standard jack size.
Summary: Lots of new phones with all the new gizmos are available, but they cost at least $200 more and they'll be equally tech challenged within 6 months. All the basics plus a few extras are here in the 7135 at a FAR lower price. This phone provides all the most commonly needed PDA features with an effortless synch to your Outlook. No camera, but I think the world will keep spinning nevertheless. You can store pics, videos & music on it via an MMC or SD card. 1GB cards are cheap and you'll probably never need more storage than that. Good value, LOADS of Palm software available if you need special applications too. Hard to beat at current 6/05 prices!

"Horrifying" on by jackkirven
Pros: all-in-one functions
Cons: all-in-one malfunctions
Summary: this terrifying "upgrade" from the 6035 is one of the single most frustrating and disappointing purchases i've ever made -- i had to replace the phone THREE times in six months, the first time within two weeks of buying it. the second time was a month later, and i needed to replace it again a month after that; however, i waited, because of the incredible hassles. finally the last phone completely froze up and verizon let me replace it with a completely different make and model -- AVOID THIS PHONE
