Pros Multitasking I guess
Cons always hanging up calls, force shutdowns when you need to press a number option during a call it locks the screen so it makes it so fustrating. I have already takeng it to sprint store to have it fixed, it still didnt work nor did the replacement.
Summary Worst mistake had a perfectly working Epic phone and decided to switch to a "cooler" phone now I cant wait to get rid of it!
Pros Two screens
Cons EXTREMELY BUGGY!!!
Summary What do you call a phone that when released, was marketed as a carrier's flagship model is discontinued 5 months after it was released? Give up? Its called a LEMON!
I got this phone about a week or two after it was released, and have since came to regret it. I should have known, if Sprint is giving you a second spare battery for free, the battery life had to be bad, and let me tell you, its horrible!! I am constantly having to switch the battery, and the battery cover is so flimsy, it feels like you could snap it by just looking at it wrong.
Immediately I started to run into problems. I could not keep wifi on for more then a few seconds. Sprint tried to tell me I had to disable Data before turning on wifi, and then when when I want to use data, I had to turn off wifi before enabling data! Also, anytime I unplugged the phone, the phone would restart (slowly), even if I am in the middle of talking with someone. It would also restart other random times as well. Those were the main issues that I could think of that I had at that time. About 3 months plus a week after I bought the phone, Sprint released a firmware update to fix many of the issues I had. When I tried to update the phone, it would download the update but not install the update. After spending like 12 hours in two days when tech support at the local main store (had to wait like an hour to talk to customer service to find out I had to wait 3+ more hours for an actual technician even though I made an appoint for a TECHNICIAN not customer service online, and that this is a business phone, both days), they decided they had to reset the phone. They reassured me if I use some free backup app, I did not need to write down the long list of apps I had on my phone (the app was unable to backup anything). After numerous reformats, including one that was supposed to set it totally reset the phone back to default, they realized they had to replace it, and the manger told me that even though he had replaced it with a new echo, that because it was older then 3 months (by less then a week), I should be getting a refurbished model, but he did not have any in stock! Come on!! This phone is barely 3 months old, got it shortly after it was released and I got the firmware update immediately after it was released!
Then early August, Sprint releases Android Gingerbread (Android 2.3) for the Echo phone. I was able to install the update this time, but I had more problems. The phone started to run extremely hot, (I think it was reading around 130*F+) and the battery life was less then an hour on standby. The battery actually died while on the car charger! It ended up, I needed to get the phone reset again! This is after Sprint phone tech support reassuring me that in store, they now have a way of backing up the apps on my phone before doing it, and made an appointment for me to see a technician. I get there, have to wait an hour to speak to customer service, and then 4 hours to speak to a technician. While the technician was working behind the wall on my phone, he decided the phone needed to be reset and did not say anything to me first. When I complained about this, he told me that the phone tech support lied that there is no way for them to backup the apps on the Kyocera Echo, but its possible on other phones.
Now, I am starting to have problems again. Many times I would have to turn on the wifi a half dozen times before the wifi would actually turn on long enough to even look for a wifi signal, and it would randomly restart, and it would take 5+ minutes for it to boot! I called Sprint phone tech support and guess what? I have to go to the store to have it reset again!!
My boss is about to demand Sprint to replace my phone with a different model phone for all of the issues I have been through and loss of work trying to get it fixed or he will close our business contract with Sprint and switch to another carrier!
Pros Liked the big split screen. Novelty (I should have known better!). Everyone "ooohs" and "ahhhs" over the split screen and it is really cool but the honeymoon ends abruptly right there.
Cons Phone is heavy, impossible to put a case on the phone because of design. Battery life is horribly short. Keep a charger for wall and auto at all times. Most apps work on one screen only so having an extra heavy glass screen is useless.
Summary This phone is a piece of junk. I ordered two of these phones for my son and myself and the bottom screens both quit working within days of each other after having the phones for 4 months. I got the phones through WIREFLY and they said they could not help me because it was past their 30 day guarantee. The "customer service" rep did tell me that if I cancelled my service that I would owe them more than $800 dollars for the phones! Really? I noticed that WIREFLY discontinued carrying this model, I wonder why? The phone was a new untested design and it proved to be a real failure and now I am stuck with this defunct machine for another 20 months until I can upgrade. That is what I get for falling for a marketing ploy because the phone was cool and different! Live and learn I guess. Never again Kyocera, never again will I trust that name brand, period!! Do not buy this piece of garbage! You will be sorry!
I think WIREFLY dumped a bunch of these crappy phones onto the market and then they hide behind their 30 day guarantee. The customer service rep asked me why I didn't send the phone back to them within the thirty days. I told them that the phone didn't malfunction until the three month mark. "I am sorry but I cannot help you." That is all I have. Be careful purchasing phones from third party companies like WIREFLY because as soon as there is a problem you will feel like you have been suckered. Get the phone through the carrier, at least they will have a dog in that fight and be willing to help you.
Pros double screen internet makes it super easy to read or watch videos online, really fast, is an Android phone that comes stock with an updated Gingerbread OS, power saver option thats customizable is great
Cons battery life can be an issue if abused without properly setting your echos display options also dies much faster if dual screen is used, can be a bit glitchy at times but nothing to be upset or concerned about, not many free apps that use dual screen
Summary overall an awesome phone, for anyone who uses the net constantly like me (facebook addict x2 because dual screened facebook is ridiculous lol)or likes to watch movies etc etc its a very cool phone with advantages that i feel over shadow the disadvantages. another good thing about it is its durability which worried me the most since its transfer from single to x2screen seemed a bit scary but iev dropped it from every position mid transfer and found it very sturdy along with a scratch proof screen, i enjoy this cell very much, certainly a good investment
Pros Love duel screens, battery is pretty good, also came with a extra battery pack, two apps at once love it.
Cons Is not 4g, it locks on you when dialing phone number
Summary Hate at&t network slow and charge way to much.
