  • "EXCELLENT PHONE FOR BASIC USE"
    on by ljern73839

Pros It's light weight and will fit in your pocket, excellent talk time of over six hours. It has a nice menu of features for daily use. the camera makes great pictures for emailing or use as a photo ID.

Cons The phone will lose a call if it is set to answer when the flip is open.

Summary I upgraded to the LG CG225 as a warranty replacement for the Samsung x497. This is a great phone with excellent call quality. I use it everyday in my busines as an insurance district manager. It has excellent reception and very few drop calls throughout the Jackson and Memphis, Tennessee area. The camera will take and save about ten pictures before the memory is full. I recommend that if picture Id's of incoming callers are used, an extension of the memory will be necessary. Overall, I recommend this phone for anyone that needs long talk time and the convenience of a camera.

  • "Don't buy this phone, Don't use Cingular"
    on by hadams

Pros Works pretty much as advertised

Cons Poorly built and Cingular will not warrant

Summary Bought plan and phone on-line(first mistake). Three months later it is falling apart(buttons coming off, screws in battery compartment falling out).

When carried into the store, I am told that there is nothing that they can do there, but that I need to call warranty support. Store personnel agree that the phone has not been abused.

When I call, I am told that since the screws are coming out of phone that warranty does not apply. Evidently, Cingular assumes that in my spare time I decided to take apart my phone.

So now I have to use my insurance plan on phone and pay a $ 50.00 deductable to get a refurbished phone. I just hope the refurbished phone lasts longer than 3 months or my 2 year plan is going to cost a bundle.

  • "call dropping, feature-poor phone"
    on by jrhinkle

Pros nice size, easy to flip open,

Cons extremely bad signal acquistion/tower transfer

Summary This phone is the worst phone I've ever carried. I've had it for about 1 year now and just decided to probably extend my contract another 2 years to get away from it. Every time I drive with this phone it drops my calls. I'd find this less frustrating than I do if it didn't then suddenly get full bars of signal. The problem is that it drops every time in the transfer between towers. This has been my experience in many different places (not just a few places). If it's not just related to this phone it must also be Cingular/AT&T, but friends of mine have their service and don't have these problems as bad. Overall, this phone is mostly a piece of junk and I wish I could get rid of it sooner.

  • "i hate this phone...."
    on by celladdict81

Pros it works, thats all i can say

Cons its the worst phone i have ever had......

Summary i have had MANY cellphone in the past years and this one is by far the worst i have had. I had a different LG phone (cant remember the model) and it broke. So this one was my replacement and its awful!! the memory is horrible!! I have only been able to have 2 downloaded songs at a time. So if there is one i like i have to delete another to even download it. So thats a HUGE disappointment to me. The same goes for games. i cant have more than 2 at a time. And im a big download freak so i have to have the latest downloads all the time. Then there is the camera!! HMMM hate it. Bottom line!! It takes horrible pics and they are even worse when u send them to someone else. I dont even use the camera anymore. And this is the first time i have had a camera phone too so if they are all like this then i wont be getting another. And then i shall go on to the camera button on the side.... i hit it every time i open my phone so therefore before i can do anything i have to clear that. If it was an emergency situation i would be very mad if that dang camera came on!! Annoying and i just thought i should share my opinion with all! I HIGHLY reccommend to NOT get this phone!! Its the worst!! And thank god i have an upgrade coming up soon so i can get rid of this worthless phone!! Thanks for reading and have a nice day!!!!

  • "Very dissapointed with the quality of this phone and the design."
    on by roseohio

Pros easy to connect to internet accidently and get charged for web use.

Cons the buttons are poorly designed, too easy to connect to the internet, too many things on the menu are merely to get you to connect to the internet, photos are fuzzy, sound quality is poor,

Summary I dislike this phone and do not recommend this phone to anyone. Its hard to read the display, You cannot record your own caller ring tones, Any change you want to make to the pathetic basic features will cost you money and minutes. I tried to return this phone and the sales people talked me into keeping it, Im very sorry I didnt choose a quality phone that would have been a pleasure to use. DO NOT BUY THIS PHONE... I got it free, however I am stuck with a 2 year contract... I wish I had found a better phone with better features.
