  • "Will not support SDHC memory cards!!!"

Pros: Good phone with great screen and capabilities, if you're willing to stick with the initial memory capability

Cons: You cannot upgrade your memory card, despite what any reviews or LG tells you. This phone will not support SDHC memory cards, so you're stuck with 2gb memory cards because no one makes any standard SD cards anymore!

Summary: The only reason I wrote this review was to try to get the word out there to people that you cannot upgrade the memory card to anything about 4gb on this phone. I bought the phone from Boost and was excited to upgrade my memory using a 16gb micro SDHC card I already had. Low and behold, as soon as I put in the new card my phone starting acting really strange, freezing constantly, not allowing me to view pictures or videos that I had taken, etc. My phone froze completely any time I tried to access any of the data or media on the new memory card, and the only thing I could do to get it back was to do a battery pull. I contacted LG support about this and was informed by an LG support tech on their Live Chat that the phone does not support SDHC memory cards and I had to stick to standard SD. The only problem is you can't find standard SD cards anymore, at least not in anything about 2-4 GB (at least not that I found, and I spent several hours online looking). This phone is mostly great except for this one problem, but it's a very big problem in my opinion.

tl;dr This phone doesn't support SDHC memory cards so don't get too excited about upgrading to more memory

sorry about the confusion on my below replies. i had to break into two separate comments since it limits your replies to only 1000 characters maximum. for it to make sense, read my second one first then it will continue in the first one that is just above it.

Well I noticed that I also recently installed Avast Anti-Virus on my phone. I decided to try uninstalling it thinking that it was unlikely to be the cause of the problem but fortunately to my surprise, after uninstalling Avast, I restarted my phone Tah-Dah!!! It ran beautifully and has ever since. I now use LookOut for my antivirus on my phone. So its likely that you either got a defective card (which does happen from time to time being that they are so small and somewhat delicate) and you just need to exchange .... (continuation from my previous reply) it for a new one or you have an Anti-virus app or some other app that is conflicting with your SD card reader. Try those solutions and let me know if it works. Also, whoever it was that works for the manufacturer that told you that needs to know that hes giving customers false information. Once you get it to work, I would call them and let them know that one of their customer service agents gave you false information.

The LG Marquee DOES support SDHC Micro Cards up to 32 gigs. I had the same problem with mine initially but did get it to work and it runs perfectly. It sounds like your having the same exact problem that I did. My 2 gig card worked fine but whenever I put in my new 32 gig SDHC card, it would slow everything down and almost always freeze within a few minutes of usage. First, I actually got a bad card so I returned it, got another and this one worked better but my phone still kept freezing and I had to take out the battery to restart it.... (continued on the next comment below)

The SD cards are crazy easy to find. Walmart, Best Buy, Radio Shack, Amazon.com, Ebay. All of these places sell the SD cards up 32g worth of space. The only reason you wouldn't be able to find them is if you didn't look. Almost every digital camera sold today as well as the little mini camcorders that are the size of a camera all take those SD cards.

It does support SDHC memory cards im using a 16gb class 10 micro sd in mine now and it works fine.......and that problem you had with your 16gb I had that same problem but when i brought a new micro sd everything is working fine now....I think the problem is that the micro sd card being used in one android device for a period of time and then being switched to another android device witch throws it off. IDK
