Pros: Good quality device, nice sized form factor, stock android with quickest path to upgrades.
Cons: (CNET doesn't provide enough space for this)
Summary: Cons: Unsubsidized (unlocked) price is irrelevant for most in the US. If you're buying a phone, chances are you'll need continued service for the next 2 years anyway so you might as well take advantage of the discounted (on contract) price. In addition, a lot of us still have legacy unlimited data plans so the idea of switching carriers to save a few bucks (and lose that) doesn't make sense.
If you live in an area with LTE, the lack of it IS a BFD. LTE speeds here in CT register average speeds of around 30/20. That's generally faster than my wi-fi. You don't need to be downloading torrents to justify that speed. Everything from streaming videos and music to surfing the net is faster... way faster. and faster is better.
Summary: If you're like most, buying a crippled (no LTE) unlocked device doesn't make any sense. There are better options that will cost you less.
