Pros Shape and feel. Keyboard. Vibrate actually works. Call quality. 3G Connection. The Weight is perfect. Awesome responsive touchscreen. Fast processing.
Cons None as of yet.
Summary I have never written a review on a phone before but this one I think is in need of a good end user review. I have only been using this phone for 3 days but so far it has given me everything that I have been looking for in a Phone. That's right I said phone. For years I have been a IOS fanboy but after the release of the iPhone 4 (which I personally despise) i went on the look for a different devise. I tried blackberry and it was cool but all of the phones are crap. I then moved on to Samsung Captivate with that worthless android os. The Phone sucked and the os was even worse. So i went on to try the Xperia X10A. The phone i actually liked but the os once again was a deal breaker for me. Well with no other real options left to try I went back to the iPhone 4 and cussed it for all it was worth. I hate that phone. So i started reading about the new windows phones and decided to give them a try. The first one that I got was the Samsung Focus and as nice as it was i couldn't get used to carrying a small tv in my pocket. So i continued to use it in hopes that I would eventually get used to it. Well the form factor of the phone just became annoying and as much as I like the os on these devices I just couldn't stand the thinness so it looked like i was going back to the iphone. Then I saw that the Quantum was available so jumped on and ordered it. The minute that I opened the box I knew this was going to be the phone and so far it has proven me right. I love that I can hold the phone next to my head and it doesn't mute or facetime at will. I love that the vibrate feature actually vibrates enough to feel in your pocket or in a leather holster. The ringtones are plenty loud enough and the os is slick. I realize that apps are important to a lot of people as well as to me and with time these will come. I also realize that custome ringtones would be nice and again these will come. All I can say is that if you want a phone that I foresee working great for everyday as well as business you should absolutely give this one a try.
Pros Everything about this phone is a pro in my eyes. The size is perfect and the phone is visually pleasing. The device is stylish in its black. The OS is quick; the camera is amaing. The apps run smoothly; music player is great too. Great keyboard.
Cons I disagree with the cnet review about the cons. The phone is not heavy. The screen is 3.5 inches, but honestly it doesn't even matter. The larger windows 7 phone by att is only 4 inches, and that thing looks god awful.
Summary As stated before, the phone is truly fun to play with. Coming from an old blackberry curve, I knew it was time to upgrade to something more up to date.
The short of it: Everything about the phone is professional and fun. I never had an iPhone, but I was attracted to this phone because everything just looked like it clicked. Believe me, it does. It's visually stunning and the touch screen feels JUST right. It's not slippery and responds extremely well. The applications are at the moment minimal, but they will definitely grow in time.
I suggest not using the AT&T preinstalled applications as after the trial period (once you mannually activate it in the phone itself) they charge money. This is for the navigator and radio (if I am not forgetting something). There are already free alternatives you can download from their store, so why bother paying?
You will not go wrong with this phone, and it even looks better than an iphone in my eyes. Keyboard just makes it better.
Pros Easy to use interface and keyboard. Integrating documents works great.
Cons No copy/paste yet!
Summary I bought this phone for my wife who is our backbone in keeping our family organized. With two high school kids and one in college, she uses this phone to keep calendars, documents with important info for each kid and generally keeps us all in line. The easy to use start screen and the ability to customixe its tiles work great for her. Previously she kept her calendar and contacts in Outlook on a laptop and synced to a Windows 6.5 phone. There were always issues with activesync. We converted her calendar and contacts to her Windows Live account using Hotmail Connector and it auto syncs to the phone without any issues at all. Make a change in Windows Live, and it shows up on the phone in a few minutes. Same is true going from phone to online. She loves it. She kept her gmail account and uises it instead of the Hotmail. the People Hub integrates all the activity together and is very easy to use. She also carries several Office Documents with her to keep track of various family information (medical, wish lists, school needs, etc.). The way Windows Phone 7 works with Mobile Office is great. She can't wait for the copy/paste, but will get by until then. The operating system has not caused any issues so far. it is easy to learn and serves our needs very well. We have installed the major apps such as You Tube, Facebook, Adobe Reader and Netflix. She doesn't game much, but I bet she will get into some of the basic games. Her main reason in getting this particular phone was the slide out keyboard. It works great for her, and cuts way down on the mis-typing as she gets used to the virtual keyboards. The live tiles on the start page are becoming a favorite for her too. Seeing the updates as they happen works well.
Pros FAST!!! This phone is incredibly fast and with the upcoming WP7 update will be even faster. qwertty keyboard is great and a must for me. Most solid phone I ever had plus the Camera with flash is a nice feature.
Cons The phone has no cons itself but WP7 can use some updates to create more options for the user. (custom ringtones and such)
Summary This is my favorite phone of all time, faster then any I have ever owned and owning a iPhone too I can tell you it is a bit faster then that.. Windows Phone 7 is perfect for me, I know MS is getting ready to send out a update to allow copy and paste and better memory management to make it even faster but I hope they are working overtime to get out more updates soon to allow us the users to configure WP7 to exactly how we want. Don't get me wrong I love WP7 and I know it's in it;s infant stage but this Operating System has incredible potential to rival and iOS or Android. Screen size has also been mentioned but it is actually the same as a iPhone (3.5") only difference is the iPhone's screen is wider where the the Quantum is longer which is actually very nice when you use it horizontally.. Bottom line, great phone which unfortunately is not getting the press and advertisement it truly deserves, go to a AT&T Store and play with it for a few minutes and I guarantee you will love it..After using WP7 for a while I have grown to truly love it and found the screen size and display of the Quantum just didn't take full advantage of this OS and it's visual capabilities and bought a Focus and haven't regretted it for a moment, originally the qwerty keyboard made me go to the Quantum but the bulk it adds along with the smaller display just doesn't match up with the bigger, lighter, brighter and more vibrant Focus.. Sorry LG...
Not sure why a reviewer is having problems using the browser for I have not had one problem with it and I most definitely like it better then Safari, not to mention a IE browser update for WP7 is also on the way in the near future.. Bottom line, I give this phone and WP7 two thumbs up..
